２列王記 19:29-31（新改訳JSS2017）あなたへのしるしは、このとおりである。「今年は、落ち穂から生えたものを食べ、二年目は、それから生えたものを食べ、三年目は、種を蒔いて刈り入れ、ぶどう畑を作ってその実を食べる。30ユダの家の中の逃れの者、残された者は下に根を張り、上に実を結ぶ。31エルサレムから残りの者が、シオンの山から、逃れの者が出て来るからである。万軍の主の熱心がこれを成し遂げる。」　   

コメント

問題と混乱のただ中で、主は今も主権者であり、すべてを支配していることをおぼえておかなければなりません。エルサレムはこの時不可能な状況が目の前にあり、包囲され、滅ぼされるところを直面していますが、神は今の備えと、究極的に収穫をも約束しています。ヘゼキヤ王とエルサレム住民は直面している滅亡しか見えませんでした。しかし、神はアッシリア大王とその軍隊に対してなさることを語りました。そして、一晩で、18万5千人の兵士を一人の御使いが殺されました（35節参照）。アッシリア大王は引き上げて故郷に帰りましたが、息子たちに暗殺されました（37節参照）。大切なのはどんな状況の中にあっても、主に目を向け、目をとめることです。主に信頼を置いて、主権の御手を信じるのです。「私が主を求めると　主は答え すべての恐怖から　私を救い出してくださった。5主を仰ぎ見ると　彼らは輝いた。彼らの顔は辱められることがない。6この苦しむ者が呼ぶと　主は聞かれ すべての苦難から救ってくださった。7主の使いは　主を恐れる者の周りに陣を張り 彼らを助け出される。8 味わい　見つめよ。主がいつくしみ深い方であることを。幸いなことよ　主に身を避ける人は。9主を恐れよ。主の聖徒たちよ。主を恐れる者には　乏しいことがないからだ」（詩篇 34:4-9 JSS2017； ローマ8：31； 詩篇 118:6-9も参照）。

2Kings 19:29-31 NIV84 “This will be the sign for you, O Hezekiah: “This year you will eat what grows by itself, and the second year what springs from that. But in the third year sow and reap, plant vineyards and eat their fruit. 30 Once more a remnant of the house of Judah will take root below and bear fruit above. 31 For out of Jerusalem will come a remnant, and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

Observation

In the midst of trouble and turmoil, the Lord is still in control and is sovereign overall.  Jerusalem is still facing an impossible and devastating siege, but God is promising provision, and an ultimate harvest.  Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem could only see what looked like total decimation. But God had spoken what he would do to the Assyrian King.  Then in one night, by one angel, 185,000 Assyrian troops are killed. King of Assyria withdraw to return home but then is murdered by his own sons.  It is very important that we keep our eyes on the Lord our God and our trust in his sovereign hand.  He will accomplish his will and purpose no matter how it looks.  “I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. 5 Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. 6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. 8 Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. 9  Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing.” (Psa 34:4-9 NIV84; Rom 8:31; Psa 118:6-9)
