私たちはどのような状況に置かれていても、主なる神は常に働かれていて、私たちは忠実であれば、必ず私たちのために御心と目的を果たされます（箴言21：30；哀歌 3:27など参照）。あるユダヤ人たちは共に誓いを立てて、パウロを殺すまで何も食べない、飲まないと決心しました。パウロの甥はいかにこの情報を取得したのかは教えられていません。たまたまであったか、その企んだ人たちの近くにいた者のか、わかりませんが、この少年（名前も記録されていません）はすぐにパウロのもとに情報を告げました。私たちは自分の存在は無価値の無意味のものと思っていても、私たちの手にゆだねられているものを忠実に用いる時に神は私たちを通しても働かれます、神の計画を前進させることができます。パウロの甥が伝えた情報のもとにパウロを監視していた司令官はすぐに行動を起こし、パウロを総督ぺリクスのもとへ送りました。この少年の大胆な、勇気ある行動のゆえに、パウロのいのちも守られ、王たちやローマの地位の高い人たちにまでキリストの福音は証しされました（使徒の働き 9:15; マタイ 10:18参照）。「あなたがたのうちに良い働きを始められた神は、必ずそれを恵みのうちに成長させ、やがてキリスト・イエスが帰って来られる日までに、それを完成してくださると、私は堅く信じています」（ピリピ 1:6 JCB）。

Act 23:16-17 MSG Paul’s nephew, his sister’s son, overheard them plotting the ambush. He went immediately to the barracks and told Paul. 17 Paul called over one of the centurions and said, “Take this young man to the captain. He has something important to tell him.”

Observation

No matter our circumstances, God is always at work and will fulfill his purpose for us when we are faithful to him (see Pro 21:30; Lam 3:27 etc.).  A group of Jews plot to kill Paul and bind themselves together by an oath.  How Paul’s nephew heard about this plan we are not told.  Possibly he was just at the right place, at the right time.  But he took a courageous step and went to notify Paul who was in prison.  We are not even told the nephew’s name, only that he was Paul’s sister’s son.  It does not matter how insignificant we think we are God can use us when we are faithful to steward whatever God gives into our hands.  The information this lad had was conveyed to the commander in charge of Paul and he acted immediately to remove Paul to the safety of Governor Felix’s palace.  Because of this one young man’s courage and action, and because God worked on the commander to act immediately, Paul’s life is spared and the message of the Gospel is going to be presented to even kings and many in the Roman governmental system (see Acts 9:15; Matt 10:18).  “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” (Phil 1:6 NLT)
