使徒の働き 26:15-18（新改訳JSS2017）　私が「主よ、あなたはどなたですか」と言うと、主はこう言われました。「わたしは、あなたが迫害しているイエスである。16起き上がって自分の足で立ちなさい。わたしがあなたに現れたのは、あなたがわたしを見たことや、わたしがあなたに示そうとしていることについて、あなたを奉仕者、また証人に任命するためである。17わたしは、あなたをこの民と異邦人の中から救い出し、彼らのところに遣わす。18それは彼らの目を開いて、闇から光に、サタンの支配から神に立ち返らせ、こうしてわたしを信じる信仰によって、彼らが罪の赦しを得て、聖なるものとされた人々とともに相続にあずかるためである。」

コメント

パウロはアグリッパ王の前で、自分がダマスコへ向かう途上でイエスが現れたときのことを話しました。まず、イエスは御自分をパウル（当時はサウロ）に明かしました。「わたしは、あなたが迫害しているイエスである。」それから、パウロへ使命を命じました。「あなたがわたしを見たことや、わたしがあなたに示そうとしていることについて、あなたを奉仕者、また証人に任命するためである。17わたしは、あなたをこの民と異邦人の中から救い出し、彼らのところに遣わす。18それは彼らの目を開いて、闇から光に、サタンの支配から神に立ち返らせ、こうしてわたしを信じる信仰によって、彼らが罪の赦しを得て、聖なるものとされた人々とともに相続にあずかるためである。」これに対してパウロは自分の応答を示しました。「こういうわけで、アギリッパ王よ、私は天からの幻に背かず．．．」（19節 JSS2017）。しかし、このためにユダヤ人たちは実んを捕まえて、殺そうとしたのです、と説明しています。私たちの証はパウロほどドラマチックではないかもしれませんが、自分の証、体験談ほど力強いものはありません。「御父は、私たちを暗闇の力から救い出して、愛する御子のご支配の中に移してくださいました。この御子にあって、私たちは、贖い、すなわち罪の赦しを得ているのです」（コロサイ 1:13-14 JSS2017; 1ヨハネ2:2; 4:10も参照）。

Act 26:15 -18 ESV And I said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ And the Lord said, ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. 16 But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you, 17 delivering you from your people and from the Gentiles—to whom I am sending you 18 to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

Observation

Paul recounts before King Agrippa, his encounter with Jesus who appeared to him on the road to Damascus.  Jesus first reveals himself clearly to Paul, “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.”  Then he gives Paul (Saul at that time) his commission to go to both Jews (your own people) and the Gentiles.  The commission was, “…I am sending you to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.” Paul then adds, “So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven” (v.19 ESV); but then explains that this was the reason the Jews seized him and tried to kill him. There is nothing as powerful as a personal testimony, even if it is not as dramatic as Paul’s. We share in the same transforming, redemptive power of Jesus Christ.  “Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” (Col 1:12-14 ESV)
