使徒の働き 28:26-27（新改訳JSS2017）『この民のところに行って告げよ。あなたがたは聞くには聞くが、決して悟ることはない。見るには見るが、決して知ることはない。27この民の心は鈍くなり、耳は遠くなり、目は閉じているからである。彼らがその目で見ることも、耳で聞くことも、心で悟ることも、立ち返ることもないように。そして、わたしが癒やすこともないように。』

コメント

パウロはローマのユダヤ人を集めて、一日がかりでメシヤイエスのことを旧約聖書から説明し、教えました（23節参照）。ある者は信じ、ある者は拒みました。イエスの時と同じでした。よみがえりの後にイエスは弟子たちにも同じように教えました（ルカ24：27,44参照）。彼らの心は燃えて、信じましたが、多くのユダヤ人は信じませんでした（ルカ24:32,45参照）。パウロも、イエスも、人々が信じない理由は心の頑なさであると言いました。イエスも同じことばをもって警告をしました。「この民の心は鈍くなり、耳は遠くなり、目は閉じているからである。彼らがその目で見ることも、耳で聞くことも、心で悟ることも、立ち返ることもないように。そして、わたしが癒やすこともないように」（マタイ13:15 JSS2017）。これは非常に恐ろしいことです。神はユダヤ人だけではなく、全ての人々が、御自分のところに立ち返って、信じることを願っています。そして、私たちの心を癒すことを願っています（頑なな心を癒し、回復させることです）。しかし、私達には信じるか、信じないかの選択があります。心を頑なにするなら、神はいやすこともできないし、もはや望みがないのです。神はくりかえし招いています。「わたしの背信の子らよ、もう一度わたしのところへ戻って来なさい。そうすれば、おまえたちの罪という病を治そう。」この神の呼びかけに、彼らはこう答えます。「帰ります、神よ。神は私たちの主だからです」（エレミヤ 3:22 JCB）。

When you see what I do, you will not comprehend. 27 For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes—so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to Me and let Me heal them.’

Observation

Paul gathered the Jews in Rome to hear the Good News concerning Jesus, the Messiah sent by God first to the Jews and also to all the nations of the earth.  He spent all day explaining and testifying about the Kingdom of God and about Jesus from the Scriptures (see v. 23). Some believed, but others did not. It was the same with Jesus.  This is exactly what Jesus did for the disciples after his resurrection (see Luke 24:27,44).   Both Paul and Jesus said that the reason they refuse to believe is that “the hearts of these people are hardened. Jesus gave the same warning “For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes—so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to Me and let Me heal them.’”  ( Matt 13:15 NLT) This is very frightening.  God so longs for us to turn back to him, so that he can heal us (heal and restore our hardened hearts)  We always have a choice to either believe or not but if we harden our hearts there is no hope left and not even God can heal our hearts.  “My wayward children,” says the LORD, “come back to Me, and I will heal your wayward hearts.” “Yes, we’re coming,” the people reply, “for You are the LORD our God.” (Jer 3:22 NLT)
