ヘブル12:1-2（リビングバイブルJCB）　このように、数えきれないほどの多くの証人たちが、競技場の観覧席で私たちを見つめているのです。だから、うしろへ引き戻そうとする力や、まとわりつく罪をふり捨てて、神の用意された競走を忍耐をもって走り抜こうではありませんか。 2あなたがたの信仰の指導者であり教師であるイエスから、目を離さないようにしなさい。イエスは後にある喜びを知って、恥辱をものともせず十字架にかかられました。そして今は、神の王座の右に座しておられるのです。

コメント

旧約の聖徒たちは私たちの模範としてどのように生きるべきか（どのように生きるべきではないか）を示してくださっています。一番私たちが学べるのは彼らの信仰です。しかし、それ以上に、私たちはイエスに目をとめて、その模範からいかに生きるべきか、恥を忍ぶべきか、苦しみに耐えるべきか（イエスでさえ苦しみを通して従順を学ばれました（へブル5:8参照））、また十字架の卑しめをも経験されました。これらをすべて耐えることができたのは、目標である私たちの贖いと、私達がもう一度御自分の者となる結果から目を離さなかったからである。ある訳では、「キリストがなされたことを学びなさい。」と訳されています。また、別訳ではこのようなことも宣言しています。「私たちの内に信仰を生み出し、信仰の完成まで導かれるイエスから私たちの視線を離してはならい」とあります。ここに私たちの確信があるのです。「あなたがたのうちに良い働きを始められた神は、必ずそれを恵みのうちに成長させ、やがてキリスト・イエスが帰って来られる日までに、それを完成してくださると、私は堅く信じています」（ピリピ 1:6 JCB）。

Heb 12:1-2 (TPT)  As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us. 2 We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God! 

(MSG) Do you see what this means–all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running–and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. 2 Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed–that exhilarating finish in and with God–he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God.

Observation

All the saints of the OT were examples to us of how we should (or shouldn’t) live our lives.  The greatest lesson we need to learn is from their faith, but even more than that, we are to keep our eyes on Jesus and learn from him, how he lived, endured shame, hardship (even he was disciplined and had to learn obedience; see Heb 5:8), and even humiliation of the cross. He did it because he kept his focus on the goal, the joy seeing us redeemed and once again in right relationship with him and God the Father, we would be his. MSG says, “Study how he did it.”  TPT says, “we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection.” Here is the assurance that we can and will make it.  “I’m fully convinced that the One who began this glorious work in you will faithfully continue the process of maturing you and will put his finishing touches to it until the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ!“ (Phil 1:6 TPT).
