箴言（知恵の泉）1:20-22、32-33　知恵は町の中で叫んでいます。21 大通りの群衆や法廷の裁判官、そして国中の人に呼びかけます。22 「愚か者よ、いつまで聞き分けがないのか。いつまで知恵をさげすみ、素直に真実を認めないのか。32わたしをきらうとは、全く愚かな人たちだ。一歩一歩死に近づいているのも知らずに、いい気になっている。33 しかし、わたしに聞き従う人は、何の心配もなく、毎日を平和に暮らす。」

コメント

箴言の中で知恵は多くの場合女性系名詞がつかわれています。また、8-9，31章では女性にたとえられています。箴言ではもう一人の女性も紹介されています、愚かさへ誘惑し誘う遊女です。これは二通りの女性を語っているのではなく、二通りの人生観と歩みの選択を現しています。片方はいのちと究極的満足へと導くものでありますが、もう一方はいのちと満足を約束していますが、実はさばきと最終的には死への道に引き込むものです。「知恵のある人は生きる喜びにあふれ、愚か者は愚かさのために苦しみます」（16:22 JCB）。箴言（知恵の泉）の始めにはこのように警告しています。「主を恐れることは知恵の初め。愚か者は知恵と訓戒をさげすむ」（1:7 JSS2017）今日のこの箇所では知恵という女性がだれであれ、呼びかけに耳を傾けて、知恵と知恵の訓戒を聞き入れて本当に生きる者となることを願っています。そしてその声に応答するものに約束しています。「わたしに聞き従う人は、何の心配もなく、毎日を平和に暮らす。」上よりの知恵によって生きる者となりましょう。「しかし、神からの知恵（上からの知恵JSS2017）は純粋であり、平和とおだやかなやさしさに満ち、思いやりと良い実に満ちています」。

She cries out in the public square. 21 She calls to the crowds along the main street, to those gathered in front of “the city gate: 22 “How long, you simpletons, will you insist on being simpleminded? How long will you mockers relish your mocking? How long will you fools hate knowledge? 32 For simpletons turn away from me—to death. Fools are destroyed by their own complacency. 33 But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.”

Observation

Proverbs introduces two women who represent two ways of living: Wisdom/Understanding and Folly.  These are not just two kinds of women but rather two foundations of living and sources of choices in life.  The one will lead to life and ultimate satisfaction and joy, the other seems to offer satisfaction and joy but actually leads to punishment and ultimately death.  “Understanding is a fountain of life to those who have it, but folly brings punishment to fools.” (Pro 16:22 NIV84) Proverbs begins with the warning, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.” (1:7 NIV84).  Here and at other times we see Lady Wisdom calling out to any who would to listen to her words and instructions of wisdom for living.  She promises, “All who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.” Let us live in the Wisdom from above (see Jam3:17).
