箴言3:13-15（新改訳JSS2017）　幸いなことよ、知恵を見出す人、英知をいただく人は。14知恵で得るものは金で得るものにまさり、その収穫は黄金にまさるからだ。15知恵は真珠よりも尊く、あなたが喜ぶどんなものも、それと比べられない。

コメント

リビングバイブルではこのように書いてあります。「善悪の区別がつき、正しい判断力と英知を持った人は、大金持ちよりも幸せです。高価な宝石も、このような知恵に比べたら　取るに足りません」（13-15 JCB）。知恵の価値は計り知れない。ソロモンはさらに知恵はどれほど価値あるかを教えてくれます。いのちと富と名誉を与えてくれます（16節）。知恵はいのちの木（17節）。知恵に分別と思慮深さを加えるといのちと麗しさを与えてくれます（21-22節）。安心を与え、つまずかないようします（23節）。恐れることなく安らかに眠れます、突然襲う恐怖から守ります（24-25節）。主がともにおられ、敵の罠にかかることがないようにしてくれます（26節；詩篇90:2，9-10も参照）。主なる神ご自身が知恵を持って働かれます。天と地をその英知と知性をもって創造されました（19-20節；エレミヤ51:15；ヨハネ1:3；創世記1-2参照）。なぜこれ以外のほかの道を選んで歩むでしょうか（だまされていなければ）？「私は今日、あなたがたに対して天と地を証人に立てる。私は、いのちと死、祝福とのろいをあなたの前に置く。あなたはいのちを選びなさい」（申命記 30:19 JSS2017）。

Pro 3:13-15 NIV84  Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, 14 for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. 15 She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.

Observations

Amplified says, “Happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable)” is the man who gains wisdom. The value is above estimation. Solomon goes on to tell how valuable it is.  It gives long life, riches and honor(v.16). Wisdom is a tree of life (v.17). Add to wisdom, sound judgment and discernment and it gives life and grace to you (v.22). It makes your way safe and keeps you from stumbling (v.23). Provides sweet sleep and no fear of sudden disaster (v.24-25).  Gives confidence that the Lord will be with you and keeps you from being snared in traps set by your enemy (v.26; see also Psa 91:3,9-10).  He also says that God himself operates out of wisdom.  Even the earth and the heavens were created in wisdom and God set everything up according to his knowledge (v. 20-21; see also Jer 51:15; John 1:3; Gen 1-2 etc).   Why would we choose any other way of life (unless we were deceived)? “This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” (Deut. 30:19 NIV84)
