箴言 8:22-23（新改訳JSS2017）　主は、ご自分の働きのはじめに、そのみわざの最初に、わたしを得ておられた。わたしは、大昔に、初めに、大地の始まりの前に、立てられていた」。

コメント

ここで知恵とはキリストをもさしている（1コリント1:24,30参照）。この箇所はヨハネ1:1-5でも反映されています。「初めにことばがあった。ことばは神とともにあった。ことばは神であった。2この方は、初めに神とともにおられた。3すべてのものは、この方によって造られた。造られたもので、この方によらずにできたものは一つもなかった。4この方にはいのちがあった。このいのちは人の光であった。5光は闇の中に輝いている。闇はこれに打ち勝たなかった。10この方はもとから世におられ、世はこの方によって造られたのに、世はこの方を知らなかった」(JSS2017)。リビングライフ英語版でこのように書かれています。「一般的に、知恵は時間を経て人生経験から得るものであると考えられています。しかし、みことばには知恵はすでに神と共に存在するものとしてあらわされています。」 もちろん人生を通して知恵を得ることもできますが、本当の知恵はイエスキリストとの関係の中で得るものです。「あなたがたは神によってキリスト・イエスのうちにあります。キリストは、私たちにとって神からの知恵、すなわち、義と聖と贖いになられました」（1コリント1:30 JSS2017）。また、このように助言されています。「あなたがたのうちに、知恵に欠けている人がいるなら、その人は、だれにでも惜しみなく、とがめることなく与えてくださる神に求めなさい。そうすれば与えられます」（ヤコブ1:5 JSS2017）。そして、箴言はさらに約束しています。「幸いなことよ．．．わたし（知恵）を見出す者はいのちを見出し、主から恵みをいただくが、わたしに背を向ける者は自分自身を痛めつけ、わたしを憎む者はみな、死を愛するからだ」（34-36節 JSS2017）。

Observation

Wisdom here is also a reference to Jesus Christ (see 1Cor 1:24,30). This passage is also reflected in John 1:1-5,10 (ESV) “1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him.” Living Life says it this way, “It is commonly thought that wisdom is born through human experience over time.  Scripture, however portrays wisdom as something that already exists in God.”  Although we can learn wisdom through life, it is also something that we find in our relationship with the Jesus Christ, “You are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” (1Cor 1:30 ESV) And we are instructed, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” (Jam 1:5 ESV) Proverbs goes on to promise us, “Blessed is the one who listens to me…35 For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the LORD, 36 but he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death.”(v. 34-36 ESV)
