エペソ1:3（新改訳JSS2017）　私たちの主イエス・キリストの父である神がほめたたえられますように。神はキリストにあって、天上にあるすべての霊的祝福をもって私たちを祝福してくださいました。

私たちはキリストにあってどんな霊的祝福に預かることができるのでしょうか？パウロはここでそのいくつかを上げています。私たちはキリストにあって、御自分のものとして選ばれました（4節）。御前に聖なる、傷のない者とされました（4節）。私たちは神の子どもとされたのです（養子縁組）（5節）。キリストにあって、その血による贖い、背きの罪の赦しを受けています（7節）。あらゆる知恵と思慮にあふれさせてくださいます（8節、箴言において知恵を参照に）。御心の奥義（目的と計画）を知らせてくださいます（9節）。この奥義の中には、いっさいのものがキリストにあって、一つに集められていること（10節）、キリストにあって、私たちは御国を受け継ぐ者とされたこと（11節、ローマ8:17も参照）、が含まれています。これらのものはすべてキリストの内にあるから預かることができるのです。この箇所においても、エペソ書の全体においても、カギのフレーズは「キリストにあって」（彼の内に）というものです。（エペソへの手紙を通して、20回以上引用されています。）主が私たちを見られるときには私たち自身ではなく、「キリストに包まれた私たち」を見られるのです。私たちに対する計画と目的はすべて、「キリストにあって」成就するのです。

Eph 1:3 ESV Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,

(TPT) Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm has already been lavished upon us as a love gift from our wonderful heavenly Father, the Father of our Lord Jesus—all because he sees us wrapped into Christ. This is why we celebrate him with all our hearts! 

Observation

What are the spiritual blessings we have been given in Christ?  Paul lists just a few here. He has chosen us to be his own (v.4) We are holy and blameless in his sight (v.4) We have been adopted as sons (v.5) In him we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins (v.7) He has lavished on us all wisdom and understanding or insight (v.8, also cf. Wisdom in Proverbs). He has revealed his mysterious will, his plan and purpose in Christ Jesus (v.9), which includes uniting all things in Christ (v.10), giving us an inheritance together with Christ (v.11, cf. Rom 8:17). We have been given the Holy Spirit of promise, by whom we are sealed and who is the guarantee of our inheritance (vs.13-14). We are able to partake of all of this because we are “in Christ”.  This is a key phrase repeated in this passage and throughout Ephesians (in Christ 13x, in him 8x). The Lord does not just see us as we are, but rather “he sees us wrapped into Christ” (TPT) and all his plans and purposes for us “in Christ.”
