エペソ 4:7 （新改訳JSS2017）しかし、私たちは一人ひとり、キリストの賜物の量りにしたがって恵みを与えられました。

パウロはこの前の節で説明しています。「あなたがたが召された、その召しの望みが一つであったのと同じように、からだは一つ、御霊は一つです。主はひとり、信仰は一つ、バプテスマは一つです。すべてのものの上にあり、すべてのものを貫き、すべてのもののうちにおられる、すべてのものの父である神はただひとりです」（4-6節　JSS2017）。しかし、わたくしたちそれぞれに神の恵みによる賜物が与えられています。この恵みとは神に召されてなさなければならない働きのための能力と力です。「それぞれが賜物を受けているのですから、神の様々な恵みの良い管理者として、その賜物を用いて互いに仕え合いなさい」（１ペテロ 4:10 JSS2017）。キリストはこの地上での働きのための聖霊の無限の力と能力をすべて与えられました（ヨハネ3:34-35; コロサイ 1:19; 2:9など参照）。天に昇られ帰られたのは御自分に宿られた同じ御霊を私たちに分け与えるためでした。私たちそれぞれキリストの体を構成されている者に聖霊の力と働きを与えられています。これらは御霊の賜物と呼ばれています（ローマ12:4-8; １コリント 12,14など参照）。私たちは一人一人御霊の量りに従ってその働きと力が与えられています。私たちそれぞれに与えられているこれらの賜物はキリストの体とこの世の人々のために用いらなければならないとペテロは上の節で説明しています。そして、私たちはこれらの賜物（神の多様面の恵み）の良い管理者でなければならないとチャレンジしています。

Eph 4:7  But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.

Observation

Paul just explained that “there is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”(v.4-6 ESV)   But we have each been given gifts by his grace (freely, unearned, unmerited.) This grace is also the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in us to do the works he has called us to do.  “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” (1Pet 4:10 ESV)  Christ had all the gifts, power and workings of the Holy Spirit operating in him while he was here on earth (see John 3:34-35; Col 1:19; 2:9 etc.).  The reason he had to ascend to heaven was so that he could send us the same Spirit that dwelled fully in him.  He has given the power and working of the Holy Spirit to each of us who all together make up the body of Christ.  These are called the gifts of the Holy Spirit (see Rom 12:4-8; 1Cor 12,14 etc.) Christ has given to each of us “a measure” of these gifts and workings of the Holy Spirit.  In the scripture above Peter explains that we have been each given these gifts to use for others both in the body of Christ and the world around us. So, he challenges us to be good stewards of God’s varied grace.
