ガラテヤ 5:1（リビングバイブルJCB）　このように、キリストは私たちを自由の身にしてくださいました。ですから、この自由をしっかりと握っていなさい。もう二度と、律法にがんじがらめになった奴隷とならないよう、細心の注意をはらいなさい。

キリストは私たちを律法の縛り（束縛、くびき）から解放してくださいました。それは、私たちが、好き勝手に何でもできるためではなく、主に仕え、キリストのために生き、神を喜ばせることができる自由です。パウロが言及している自由は、律法の行いにしばられないで、律法の基準にたっする努力からの解放です。実はだれ一人律法の標準を満たすことができるものはないからです。「すべての人は罪を犯したので、神の標準にはほど遠い存在です」（ローマ3：23 JCB）。しかし、イエス・キリストは神の律法を完全に守り、成就したのです（マタイ5：17； ローマ8：3-4参照）。ゆえに、私たちは律法の束縛（くびき）から解放されて、神を喜ばせる自由に生きることができるのです。イエスが私たちにこのように招いています。「重い束縛を受けて、疲れはてている人たちよ。さあ、わたしのところに来なさい。あなたがたを休ませてあげましょう。 29わたしはやさしく、謙遜な者ですから、負いやすいわたしのくびきを、わたしといっしょに負って、わたしの教えを受けなさい。そうすれば、あなたがたのたましいは安らかになります。 30わたしが与えるのは軽い荷だけだからです」（マタイ11:28-30 JCB）。別訳では「わたしと共に歩み、わたしと共に働くことを学びなさい。無理のない恵みのリズムをわたしから学びなさい」（英訳The Message Bibleの翻訳）。キリストにある恵みの自由を学び、楽しみましょう。あなたにどのようにあてはまりますか？

Gal 5:1 NLT  So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.  

(MSG) Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you.

Observation

Christ has set us free from the bondage of the Law, not to do whatever we please but to living in freedom to serve and live for Christ.  Paul is talking about freedom from having to perform and measure up to the standard of the Law, which is an impossibility for anyone. “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” (Rom 3:23 NLT). Christ fulfilled the Law (see Matt 5:17; Rom 8:3-4).  We are now set free from the bondage (yoke) of the Law, so that we may live in freedom to do what pleases God.   Jesus gave us this invitation, “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you. Let Me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”  Another translation says it this way, “Walk with me and work with me–watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matt 11:29-30 MSG)
