エペソ6:10-12 （新改訳JSS2017）　終わりに言います。主にあって、その大能の力によって強められなさい。11悪魔の策略に対して堅く立つことができるように、神のすべての武具を身に着けなさい。12私たちの格闘は血肉に対するものではなく、支配、力、この暗闇の世界の支配者たち、また天上にいるもろもろの悪霊に対するものです。

私たちは戦争中です。敵がいます、神の敵であり、私たちの魂の敵であるサタンです。「最大の敵である悪魔の攻撃に備えて、警戒しなさい。悪魔は、飢えてほえたけるライオンのように、引き裂くべき獲物を求めてうろつき回っているのです」（1ペテロ 5:8 JCB）；「堅く信仰に立って、この悪魔に対抗しなさい」（5:9 JSS2017）。神は私たちにこの戦いで戦うために身を守る武具と武器を与えています。そして約束されています。「あなたを攻めるために作られる武器は、どれも役に立たなくなる。また、あなたを責め立てるどんな舌も、さばきのときに、あなたがそれを不義に定める。これが、主のしもべたちの受け継ぐ分、わたしから受ける彼らの義である」（イザヤ54:17 JSS2017）。私たちに与えられている武具は次の通りです。「腰には真理の帯を締め、胸には正義の胸当てを着け、足には平和の福音の備えをはきなさい。これらすべての上に、信仰の盾を取りなさい。それによって、悪い者が放つ火矢をすべて消すことができます。救いのかぶとをかぶり、」（エペソ6:14-17 JSS2017）。また、攻撃の武器も与えられています。「御霊の剣、すなわち神のことばを取りなさい。あらゆる祈りと願いによって、どんなときにも御霊によって祈りなさい」（5:17-18 JSS2017；ヤコブ5:16も参照）。そして常に覚えておかなければならないのは私たちの戦う立場は勝利の立場であることです。「私たちを愛してくださった方によって、私たちは圧倒的な勝利者です」（ローマ8:37 JSS2017）。

Eph 6:10-12 NLT  A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12  For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

Observation

We are at war.  We have and enemy, the enemy of God and of our souls. “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith.” (1Pet 5:8 NLT) But God has given us armor and weapons to fight in this battle (see 2 Cor 10:4-5)  We are also promised, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD.” (Isa 54:17 NKJV) Here is the armor we have been given, “Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation,” (Eph 6:14-17 ESV)  But we have been given only two weapons:  The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, and prayer (see also Jam 5:16).  But we must remember that we battle from the position of victory, “overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” (Rom 8:37 NLT)
