箴言 17:6 （新改訳 JSS2017）　孫たちは老人の冠。　父祖たちは子らの栄え。

子供は主からの祝福です。世の中の人々は、子供は幸せの邪魔者と考えることがあります。しかし、神の視点は違います。主なる神、創造主は最初に人に語ったことばはこの祝福のことばでした。「神は彼らを祝福された。神は彼らに仰せられた。「生めよ。増えよ。地に満ちよ。地を従えよ。海の魚、空の鳥、地の上を這うすべての生き物を支配せよ」（創世記 1:28 JSS2017）。主がイスラエルに祝福を宣言されたときにもこのように言いました。「あなたの胎の実も大地の実りも、．．．祝福される」（申命記 28:4 JSS2017）。また、詩篇の中でも繰り返し子供は祝福であり、主からの報いであると言っています。「あなたの妻は　家の奥で　たわわに実るぶどうの木のようだ。　あなたの子どもたちは　食卓を囲むとき　まるでオリーブの若木のようだ。 4見よ　主を恐れる人は　確かに　このように祝福を受ける。 5 主がシオンからあなたを祝福されるように。あなたは　いのちの日の限り　エルサレムへのいつくしみを見よ。6あなたの子らの子たちを見よ」（詩篇１２８:３-６ JSS2017）。「見よ　子どもたちは主の賜物　胎の実は報酬。４ 若いときの子どもたちは　実に　勇士の手にある矢のようだ。 5 幸いなことよ　矢筒をその矢で満たしている人は。彼らは門で敵と論じるとき　恥を見ることがない」（詩篇１２７:３-５ JSS2017）。主から与えられた子供を主なる神の視点から見ましょう。そして、神の目的と、召しを全うすることができるように育て、祈りで覆ってあげましょう。

Pro 17:6 NIV84 Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.

Observation

Children are a blessing from the Lord.  The world sees them as hinderances or obstacles to a happy life.  God intends them to be a blessing.  This was the first thing God said to Adam and Eve, “God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” (Gen 1:28 NIV84).  Part of the blessing God declared on Israel for their obedience was, “The fruit of your womb will be blessed.” (Deut 28:4 NIV84)  Again in Psalms children are declared to be a blessing and a reward from the Lord. “Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your sons will be like olive shoots around your table. 4 Thus is the man blessed who fears the LORD. 5 May the LORD bless you from Zion all the days of your life; may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem, 6 and may you live to see your children’s children.” (Psa 128:3-6 NIV84)  “Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. 4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one’s youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.”  (Psa 127:3-5 NIV84) Let us see our children from God’s perspective and raise them to fulfill the purpose for which God has given them to us.
