箴言 20:12 (新改訳JSS2017)　 聞く耳と見る目は、二つとも主が造られた。

Pro 20:12 NLT Ears to hear and eyes to see—both are gifts from the LORD.

(ESV) The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the LORD has made them both.

Observation

The Lord has made every part of us and given them to us for a purpose.  Ears to hear, eyes to see must lead to hearts that understand. Ezekiel was told, “Son of man, look with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and set your heart upon all that I shall show you, for you were brought here in order that I might show it to you.” (Ezk 40:4 ESV)  The problem is that many times we do not see what God is doing, nor hear what he is saying and so we do not have an understanding heart.  This was Jesus’ lament and quoted the prophet Isaiah who said the same thing.  “Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says: “You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see

but never perceive.” 15 For this people’s heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.’16  But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear.” (Matt 13:14-16 ESV).  This was Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians and also for us: “I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe.” (Eph 1:18-19 ESV)
