コロサイ 1:9-11（リビングバイブルJCB）　そういうわけで、私たちはそのことを聞いた時から、絶えずこう祈り求めています。どうか、神が何を望んでおられるか、はっきりとあなたがたにわかりますように。また、霊的なことに対する理解力が与えられますように。 10いつも主に喜ばれる生き方をして、主の評判を高めることができますように。他の人々に善意と親切とを示し、神をますます深く知るに至りますように。 11また、こうも祈っています。あなたがたが神の栄光ある力に満たされて、どんなことが起ころうとも前進し、いつも、主の喜びにあふれていることができますように。

コメント

多くの場合、私たちの祈りは神の備えや助けを求めます。これは間違った祈りではないが（マタイ6:11参照）、パウロはかなり違う祈りをしました（エペソ1:17-19; 3:16-20も参照）。その祈りは、私たちが知識と理解力が与えられて、私たちがキリストにあってどのようなものであるか、神が私たちのためにどのようなことをなされたか、いかにして、神を喜ばせ、神のために生きることができるかを知ることができるように祈ってます。さらに、私たちがあらゆる善い実を豊かに実らせることができるように祈ってます。そして、これらのことが実行することができるように天からの強力な力で私たちが満たされるように祈ってます。この力によって、神が私たちのために計画し、用意してくださっているあらゆるものを実現させることができるように祈ってます（使徒の働き1:8参照）。イエスも同じように祈るように教えています。「御国が来ますように、御心が天で行われるように、地でも行われますように」（マタイ6:10参照）。私たちのために神が用意し、私たちを通して働いてくださることによってすべてを行うことができるように願い、生きて行きましょう。

Col 1:9-11 TPT  Since we first heard about you, we’ve kept you always in our prayers that you would receive the perfect knowledge of God’s pleasure over your lives, making you reservoirs of every kind of wisdom and spiritual understanding. 10 We pray that you would walk in the ways of true righteousness, pleasing God in every good thing you do. Then you’ll become fruit-bearing branches, yielding to his life, and maturing in the rich experience of knowing God in his fullness! 11 And we pray that you would be energized with all his explosive power from the realm of his magnificent glory, filling you with great hope.

Observation

Many of our prayers are for God’s provision and help in our lives.  This is of course okay and part of what we are to ask of God in our prayers (see Matt 6:11 etc.) However, Paul prays a very different prayer for the Colossians and also for us (see also Eph 1:17-19; 3:16-20 etc.)  His prayer is that we would be given knowledge and insight into who we are, what God has done for us and how we should live to please and honor God.  This will result in bearing “every kind of good fruit”.  He also prays that we would be filled with “his explosive power from the realm of his magnificent glory.”  This is what enables and empowers us to do all he has planned and prepared for us (see Act 1:8).  Jesus taught us to pray this way: “Your Kingdom come, your will be done on (in) earth as it is in heaven.”  (see Matt 6:10 etc.) Let’s learn to live in the fulness of what God has planned and prepared for us and to accomplish all he wants to do in and through us.
