コロサイ 3:12-14 （新改訳JSS2017）　ですから、あなたがたは神に選ばれた者、聖なる者、愛されている者として、深い慈愛の心、親切、謙遜、柔和、寛容を着なさい。13互いに忍耐し合い、だれかがほかの人に不満を抱いたとしても、互いに赦し合いなさい。主があなたがたを赦してくださったように、あなたがたもそうしなさい。14そして、これらすべての上に、愛を着けなさい。愛は結びの帯として完全です。

私たちは神に選ばれた（代表する者となるため）、また神によって愛されている（最愛の子）として、どのような服で身を着せるべきでしょうか？神ご自身が用意してくださった衣を着るのです。それは、慈愛の心（あわれみの心）、親切（思いやり）、謙遜、柔和、寛容、さらに、忍耐（単に、待つことではなく、待っている間に持っている態度）、の衣を着なければなりません。そして、神が私たちを赦してくださったと同じように、互いに赦しあって生きなければなりません。これらをすべて結び合わせて、全てのことを調和させるのは愛の帯です。これらは他のところでは「義の衣」と呼ばれています（詩篇132:9；イザヤ 61:10など参照）。

Col 3:12-14 ESV  Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

(AMP) Clothe yourselves therefore, as God’s own chosen ones (His own picked representatives), [who are] purified and holy and well-beloved [by God Himself, by putting on behavior marked by] tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, [and] patience [which is tireless and long-suffering, and has the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper]. 13 Be gentle and forbearing with one another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has [freely] forgiven you, so must you also [forgive]. 14 And above all these [put on] love and enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony].

Observation

How are we, God’s chosen ones (His own picked representatives), who are holy(walk and live in holiness and righteousness), and who are well-beloved [by God himself] to be clothed?  We are to first clothe ourselves by putting on behavior marked by compassion and tenderheartedness, kindness, humility, and patience (not just the ability to wait but how we act while we wait, which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with a good temper (see Amp and also compare with Gal 5:22)), gentle and forbearing with one another, forgive because we have been forgiven, bind everything together with love. These are the clothes of righteousness which He has prepared for us but that we must put on (see Psa 132:9; Isa 61:10).
