コロサイ 3:23-24 （新改訳JSS2017）　何をするにも、人に対してではなく、主に対してするように、心から行いなさい。あなたがたは、主から報いとして御国を受け継ぐことを知っています。あなたがたは主キリストに仕えているのです。

コメント

私たちは一人一人が置かれている場所で神の心と品性を現すことができます。家族の中で、夫や妻、子供や親であっても、神の心と態度を現さなければなりません（18-21節参照）。職場においても、イエス・キリストを反映しなければなりません（22節参照）。もっとも大いなる戒めは心を尽くして神を愛することと隣人を自分と同じように愛すると示されていますが、もう一つ上の次元は主イエスに仕える思いで、彼らに仕え、愛することです。イエスも言いました。「これらの私の兄弟たち、それも最も小さい者たちの一人にしたことは、わたしにしたのです」（マタイ25:40 JSS2017）。誰に対してでも愛し、仕えるときにおぼえておかないといけないのは「あなたがたは主キリストに仕えているのです。」

Col 3:23-24 NIV84  Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Observation

God has placed each of us where we can reflect God’s character and heart.  In the family, whether we are husbands, wives, children or parents, we must show God’s heart and attitudes (see v.18-21). Even in the work place we can be a reflection of Jesus Christ (see v.22). The greatest commandment is to Love the Lord God with all our hearts and our neighbor as ourselves, but the higher level is to treat others as though we were serving and relating to the Lord himself. When we keep this perspective we are able to show the greatest respect for others.  Our reward for serving and loving others doesn’t come from them but from our Lord.  No matter who we are serving, always remember that, “It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” (see also Matt 25:40)
