Bible Vitamin

Scripture

Pro 25:11,12,13 MSG  The right word at the right time is like a custom-made piece of jewelry, 12  And a wise friend’s timely reprimand is like a gold ring slipped on your finger. 13  Reliable friends who do what they say are like cool drinks in sweltering heat–refreshing!

Observation

There is power in our tongue and words. “The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.†(Pro 18:21 NLT) We can refresh, encourage, build up others with our words.  But we can also drain the life from others, discourage, and tear down with our words.  “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.†(Eph 4:29 NIV84) “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.†(Col 4:6 NIV84). Watch your words! Let our words be like pieces of jewelry, or like a fresh refreshing drink.

How does this apply to you?
