1ヨハネ4：9-10 (新改訳JSS2017)　 神はそのひとり子を世に遣わし、その方によって　私たちにいのちを得させてくださいました。それによって　神の愛が私たちに示されたのです。私たちが神を愛したのではなく、神が私たちを愛し、私たちの罪のために、宥めのささげ物としての御子を遣わされました。に愛があるのです。

使徒ヨハネは「愛の使徒」として知られています。そのメッセージはいつも、「キリストが私たちを愛されたように、互いに愛し合いましょう。」この箇所でも、その愛がどのように私たちに表されたかを語っています。ヨハネの福音書にはこのように書かれました。「実に神は、ひとり子をさえ惜しまず与えるほどに、この世界を愛してくださいました。それは、神の御子を信じる者が、だれ一人滅びず、永遠のいのちを得るためです。 17神がご自分の御子を世にお遣わしになったのは、世をさばくためではなく、世を救うためです」（ヨハネ 3：16-17 JCB）。だからクリスマスをお祝いするのです。御使いはヨセフに告げました。「彼女は男の子を産みます。その子をイエス（「主は救い」の意）と名づけなさい。この方こそ、ご自分を信じる人々を罪から救ってくださるからです」(マタイ1:21 JCB)。そして、羊飼いたちに御使いが現れたときに宣言しました。「こわがることはありません。これまで聞いたこともない、すばらしい出来事を知らせてあげましょう。すべての人への喜びの知らせです。 11今夜、ダビデの町（ベツレヘム）で救い主がお生まれになりました。この方こそ主キリストです」(ルカ2：9-10 JCB)。だからヨハネは言いました。「神は、かけがえのないご自分のひとり子をこの世に遣わし、そのひとり子の死によって、私たちに永遠のいのちを与えてくださいました。そのようにして、どんなに私たちを愛しておられるかを示されたのです」(1ヨハネ 4:9 JCB)。

1John 4:9-10 NLT God showed how much He loved us by sending His one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him. 10  This is real love—not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

Observation

The Apostle John became known as the “Apostle of Love”  His message was always, “Love one another and Christ loved us.”  Here again he tells us from where love originates.  In the Gospel of John he wrote, “”For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.” (John 3:16-17 NLT) This is why we celebrate Christmas.  The angel told Joseph, “And she (Mary) will have a son, and you are to name Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” (Matt 1:21 NLT) Then the angels told the shepherds on the night Jesus was born, “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!” (Luke 2:10-11 NLT)  That is why John says,  “This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him.” (1John 4:9 MSG)
