マルコ 4:11-13（新改訳JSS2017）　そこで、イエスは言われた。「あなたがたには神の国の奥義が与えられていますが、外の人たちには、すべてがたとえで語られるのです。それはこうあるからです。『彼らは、見るには見るが知ることはなく、聞くには聞くが悟ることはない。彼らが立ち返って赦されることのないように。』」そして、彼らにこう言われた。「このたとえが分からないのですか。そんなことで、どうしてすべてのたとえが理解できるでしょうか。

コメント

イエスがたとえ（例話）をもって話されたのは、まずことを分かりやすくするためではなく、聞く耳と理解する心を持たない人々から霊的な真理を隠すためでした（マタイ13:11-15なども参照）。それは、彼らが本当に聞いて理解されるなら責任が問われるからです。応答せず従わなければ、そのためにさばかれるからです。しかし、開かれた、応答する心のある人には、みことばにある御国の真理を悟り、理解しやすいようにしてくれるのです。「聞く耳と見る目は、二つとも主が造られた」（箴言 20:12 JSS2017）。ダビデは祈りました。「私の目を開いてください。私が目を留めるようにしてください。あなたのみおしえのうちにある奇しいことに」（詩篇119:18 JSS2017）。パウロもエペソの教会のために祈りました。「どうか、私たちの主イエス・キリストの神、栄光の父が、神を知るための知恵と啓示の御霊を、あなたがたに与えてくださいますように。また、あなたがたの心の目がはっきり見えるようになって、神の召しにより与えられる望みがどのようなものか、聖徒たちが受け継ぐものがどれほど栄光に富んだものか、また、神の大能の力の働きによって私たち信じる者に働く神のすぐれた力が、どれほど偉大なものであるかを、知ることができますように」（エペソ1:17-19 JSS2017）。

But to those on the outside everything is said in parables 12 so that, “‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!'” 13 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable?

Observation

The reason Jesus told stories (parables) was not just to make things simple to understand and relatable but rather the first reason was to hide spiritual truths from those who have no heart to hear or understand (see also Matt 13:11-15).  This is because if one truly hears and understands the truths of the Gospel, they are held responsible for how they respond, they will be judged for not obeying. But for those who have open, responsive hearts that desire to hear, understand and respond to the truths of the Word of God, the parables make sense and help us to understand truths of the Kingdom of God.  “Ears that hear and eyes that see— the LORD has made them both.” (Prov 20:12 NIV84) David prayed, “Ears that hear and eyes that see— the LORD has made them both.” (Psal 119:18 NIV84)  Paul prayed for the Ephesian church, “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength.” (Eph 1:17-19 NIV84)
