マルコ 4:30-32 （リビングバイブルJCB）　また、こうも言われました。「神の国をどう説明し、何にたとえたらいいでしょう。 31それは、小さなからし種のようです。からし種は種の中でも最も小さいものですが、 32成長すると、とても大きくなり、鳥が巣を作れるほどになります。」

コメント

イエスは多くのたとえをもって神の国の現実と特性を説明しようとしました。ここでごく普通のからしだねというものともって説明しています。もっとも小さな種の一つですが、畑の中には最も大きな植物になるのです。時には私たちも、私たちがかかわっている神の働きも小さくて、無意味の、無力のものと感じることもあるかもしれませんが、神の国はこの全世界の中においては最も巨大な存在と影響に成長するのです。そしてそれは私たちの地域においても多くのものに日陰を与え、休息の場所、安全なところとなるのです。パウロも言いました。「私が植えて、アポロが水を注ぎました。しかし、成長させたのは神です」（1コリント 3:6 JSS2017）。私たちの責任は種を植えることです。神はその種のような働きを成長させるお方です。

Mar 4:30-32 TPT  And he told them this parable: “How can I describe God’s kingdom realm? Let me illustrate it with this parable. 31 It is like the mustard seed, the tiniest of all the seeds, 32 yet when it springs up and grows, it becomes the largest plant in the garden. And with so many enormous spreading branches, even birds can nest in its shade.”

Observation

Jesus used many parables to try to describe and explain the Kingdom of God.  Here is uses the common mustard seed which is one of the smallest seeds and yet it grows into one of the larger plants in a garden.  Sometimes we feel very insignificant and think that the work of God in our midst is small and inconsequential.  Yet the Kingdom of God and its work is the greatest in all of the universe.  No matter how small the work of God seems as we plant it in our midst and our communities, it has the power to grow into a great tree that even provides shade, rest, shelter for all kinds of people around us.
