マルコ 6:31 （リビングバイブルJCB）　イエスは弟子たちに言われました。「さあ、しばらく人ごみを避けて休みましょう。」イエスのもとには人の出入りが多く、食事をする暇もなかったからです。

弟子たちは二人づつ送り出された宣教旅行から帰ると人々がイエスを求めて、そのところに多く出入りしていたので、休む間もなく、食べることすらできませんでした。それを見たイエスはしばらく休息をとるために、人ごみの少ない寂しい所に行くようにと言いました。定期的に休むことは大事です。創造主なる神でさえ六日働いて、七日に休みました。そして、安息日の原則をわれわれにも定めました（創世記2:1-3参照）。イエスはまた別の時に言いました。「すべて疲れた人、重荷を負っている人はわたしのもとに来なさい。わたしがあなたがたを休ませてあげます。わたしは心が柔和でへりくだっているから、あなたがたもわたしのくびきを負って、わたしから学びなさい。そうすれば、たましいに安らぎを得ます」（マタイ11:28-29 JSS2017）。休むことは特に何もしないという意味だけではなく、気分転換をすることイエスに重荷や悩みを委ねることです。イエスが言いました。「わたしのくびきを負って、わたしから学びなさい。」イエスでさえ休むことを必要としていたなら、私たちはイエスから学ぶべきです。カギはイエスと共に働くこととイエスから学ぶことです。すぐ後にイエスは5000人を養ったときにこのことを教えました (34-44節)。主は私たちに与える安息に入ることを願っています（へブル4:1-3、9-11参照）。

Mar 6:31-32 NIV84  Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” 32 So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place.

Observation

The disciples had just returned from a ministry trip going out two by two. But so many people wanted to be around Jesus and be ministered to that they didn’t even have time to eat.  Jesus told his disciples to, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”  It is very important to rest regularly.  Even God the Creator rested on the Seventh day and established the Sabbath principle (see Gen 2:1-3).  Jesus also said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matt 11:28-30 NIV84) Rest is not necessarily just doing nothing but a change of pace and learning to give your cares and burdens to Jesus.  He is the one who said, “take my yoke upon you and learn from me.”  If Jesus needed to rest from his ministry then we also need to learn from him. The key is to learn to work together with Jesus and let him work in us and through us. That is what he showed the disciples through the feeding of the 5000 (see Mark 6:34-44) The Lord wants us to enter into the rest that he is giving us (see Heb 4:1-3, 9-11).
