マルコ6:50 (新共同訳)　 皆はイエスを見ておびえたのである。しかし、イエスはすぐ彼らと話し始めて、「安心しなさい。わたしだ。恐れることはない」と言われた。

イエスが5000人を奇跡的に養ったのち、弟子たちを船に乗せ先に湖を渡らせました。そして、群衆を解散させ、祈る時を持ちました。その一方弟子たちは風に逆らい舟をこいでなかなか進むことができませんでした。イエスは彼らの状況を見られました（神の霊の目で）。そして彼らのところに海の上を歩いて行きました。弟子たちは、イエスが水の上を歩いているのを見て驚き、幽霊だと思って恐れました。イエスは自分であることを知らせて言いました。「安心しなさい。ほら、わたしです。こわがることはありません」（JCB）。原語ではイエスは、「私は有る」と言いましたがこれは実に神がモーセに示された神の名前です（出エジプト記　3:14参照）。「私は有る」（ヤーウエイ）の意味はどんな時においても、どんな必要があっても、神はそこにおられ、その必要を満たすお方であるということです。イエスは私たちにも、「安心しなさい。わたしだ。恐れることはない」と言っています。マタイの福音書の最後のイエスのことばはこれです。「見よ。わたしは世の終わりまで、いつもあなたがたと共にいます」（マタイ28:20 JSS2017; ヘブル13:5も参照）。

Mar 6:50 TLV for they all saw Him and were terrified. But immediately, He spoke to them. He said, “Take courage! I am. Do not be afraid.”

Observation

After miraculously feeding the 5000, Jesus sends the disciples ahead of him back to the other side of the lake.  After dispersing the crowd, Jesus spends time praying.  The disciples are fighting the wind and straining at the oars and making little headway.  Jesus sees them and their situation (with his divine eyes).  He begins walking out to them on the water. When the disciples saw Jesus, they thought he was a ghost and were terrified. Jesus let them know that it was him, “Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.” Literally he said, “I AM!”  That is God name that he revealed to Moses (see Exo 3:14) I AM (Yahweh) means that He is everything we need in whatever circumstance we are in. Jesus is saying the same to us wherever we are, “Take courage! I AM! Don’t be afraid.”  Jesus final words in the Gospel of Matthew are, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matt 28:20 NIV84; see also Heb 13:5).
