マルコ 8:17-17（リビングバイブルJCB）　弟子たちがそのことで互いに議論し合っているのを聞いて、イエスは言われました。「いや、そんなことではありません。まだわからないのですか。なんとものわかりの悪い人たちなのでしょう。 18目も耳も持っているのに、見えも聞こえもしなかったのですか。何も覚えていないのですか。

これは面白おかしい出来事ですが、同時に悲しいことです。イエスは弟子たちに霊的な教訓（洞察）を教えようとしていましたが（「ヘロデ王とパリサイ人たちのパン種（彼らの誤った教えと偽善）に気をつけなさい」）、彼らは目に見える現実にしか目が向かれませんでした（誰が昼食のパンを忘れてきたのか）。また、イエスがごく最近二度もわずかなパンと魚で大群衆を奇跡的に食べさせたことを全く忘れています。私たちは時に肉的なことだけに気が取られて、主が教えようとしている霊的なことが全く分からないのです。「目も耳も持っているのに、見えも聞こえもしなかったのですか。何も覚えていないのですか」（18節）。目の前の問題しか見えなくて、主が何回も今まで私たちのために働き、備え、助けてくださったことを忘れてしまうのです。また、肉的な現状、目に見えるものだけ見て、霊の目で物事を見たり、霊的な心で悟ろうとしないのです。これは、イエスを悲しませました。そしてその原因は「頑なな心」（JSS2017参照）から来ることを覚えておくべきです。

Mar 8:17-18 TPT  Knowing what they were thinking, Jesus said to them, “Why all this fussing over forgetting to bring bread? Do you still not see or understand what I say to you? Are your hearts still hard? 18 You have good eyes, yet you still don’t see, and you have good ears, yet you still don’t hear, neither do you remember.

Observation

This is sort of a sad-funny episode.  Jesus is trying to teach them a spiritual insight (“Watch out! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and of Herod.” v.15) All the disciples can think about is the fact that someone forgot to bring lunch (“Meanwhile, the disciples were finding fault with each other because they had forgotten to bring bread.” v.16)  They even don’t remember that Jesus just before had twice feed multitudes with only a few loaves and fishes.  If the point had only been about having enough to eat, he could have easily done it again for them.  Sometimes we are so concerned about the natural things in life that we forget or miss the true spiritual lesson that the Lord is trying to teach us.  “’You have eyes—can’t you see? You have ears—can’t you hear?’ Don’t you remember anything at all?” (v.18 NLT)　It is so easy to just see the immediate need and forget what the Lord has done for us in the past.  Also to just see things in a natural light rather than with spiritual eyes.
