マルコ10:51-52 （新改訳JSS2017）　イエスは彼に言われた。「わたしに何をしてほしいのですか。」すると、その目の見えない人は言った。「先生、目が見えるようにしてください。」 52そこでイエスは言われた。「さあ、行きなさい。あなたの信仰があなたを救いました。」すると、すぐに彼は見えるようになり、道を進むイエスについて行った。

イエスから何を求めていますか？バルテマイはなんでも求めることができたでしょう。もっと施しを多くいただけること。だれかが面倒を見て必要なものがすべて与えられることを求めることもできたでしょう。しかし、バルテマイはイエスだけが与えることができることを求めました。「目が見えるようにしてください。」イエスに叫び求めました。「ダビデの子イエス様。私をあわれんでください」（47節）。周りの人々は彼を静まらせようとしましたが、さらに大声でますます叫び求めました。そして、イエスが彼を呼び寄せた時には自分が着ていた物乞いの衣（彼の過去）を放り捨ててイエスのところに立って行きました。イエスは彼に言いました。「さあ、行きなさい。あなたの信仰があなたを救いました。」すると、「すぐに彼は見えるようになり、道を進むイエスについて行った。 」多くの場合私たちは失望したくないため、漠然とした祈りをします。しかし、イエスは明確な祈りに明確に答えられるのです。あなたはイエスから何を求めていますか？

Mar 10:51-52 NIV84  “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” 52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

Observation

What do we want from Jesus?  Bartimaeus could have asked that he would get more alms. He could have asked that someone would care for him so he would not have to beg any more.  But he asked for the one thing that only Jesus could give him. “I want to see.”  He called to Jesus, “Son of David, have mercy on me.” People tried to stop him from making such a commotion and to leave Jesus alone.  But he would not stop, in fact, “He shouted all the more.” When Jesus called for him to come, he threw off his coat (beggar’s cloak), leaving his past behind and came to Jesus. Jesus said to him, “Go…your faith has healed you.” But when Bartimaeus received his sight “Immediately…he followed Jesus.”  So often we ask in vague terms because we do not want to be disappointed.  Jesus specifically answers, specific prayers.  What do you want from Jesus?
