マルコ 14:61-62 （新改訳JSS2017）　しかし、イエスは黙ったまま、何もお答えにならなかった。大祭司は再びイエスに尋ねた。「おまえは、ほむべき方の子キリストなのか。」そこでイエスは言われた。「わたしが、それです。あなたがたは、人の子が力ある方の右の座に着き、そして天の雲とともに来るのを見ることになります。」

コメント

イエスは逮捕されて、裁判にかけられていました。それはイエスが神の子、キリスト（メシヤ）であると主張していたからです。もちろんそうでなければ偽り者ですが、イエスは真実を語っていたのです。そこで、祭司長などによって面と向かって、直接たずねられました。「おまえは神の子、キリストなのか」（JCB）。そして、イエスは正直に真実を答えました。「わたしが、それです。」原語では「エゴ・エミ」（I AM）「私は有る」と答えられました。これは神がご自分をモーセに現わされたときに言われたご自分の名前です。「私はあって、ある者。」　「『私はある』という方が私をあなたがたのところに遣わされた」（出エジプト記 3:14 JSS2017）。後にモーセはイスラエルの人々に言いました。「私のような一人の預言者をあなたのために起こされる。あなたがたはその人に聞き従わなければならない」（申命記18:15 JSS2017）。しかし、イエスがご自分の正体を明かされたときにはユダヤ人は受け入れることができませんでした。自分たちが想像していたようのものではなかったからです。ヨハネはこのように言いました。「この方はもとから世におられ、世はこの方によって造られたのに、世はこの方を知らなかった。11この方はご自分のところに来られたのに、ご自分の民はこの方を受け入れなかった。12しかし、この方を受け入れた人々、すなわち、その名を信じた人々には、神の子どもとなる特権をお与えになった」（ヨハネ1:10-12 JSS2017）。

Mark 14:61-62 NIV84  But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?” 62 “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

Observation

Jesus has been arrested and put on trial for claiming to be the Messiah.  If it was a false claim, of course he should be condemned.  But he was speaking the truth and the Jewish leaders refused to accept it.  When asked point blank, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?” His response was “I AM”  This was God’s name by which he revealed himself to Moses at the burning bush, “I AM THAT I AM”. God told Moses to tell the Israelites, “I AM has sent me to you.” (Exo 3:14 NIV84)  Moses also told the Israelites, “The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him.” (Deut 18:15 NIV84)  But when Jesus revealed who he truly was, the Jewish people couldn’t accept him, because he did not come like they expected him to come. “He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—.” (John 1:10-12 NIV84)
