詩篇 57:5,11 （リビングバイブルJCB）　主が、天より高くあがめられますように。ご栄光を地上高く現してください。11 ああ神よ。あなたの名が天よりも高くあがめられますように。ご栄光が全世界を照らしますように。

この二節は原語で同じことばのおりかえしです（新改訳参照）。会衆応答で歌われたとも思われます。神の偉大さと栄光をたたえていますが、この詩篇の表題を見ますと、ダビデの最も暗い、どん底の時に書かれた詩です。サウルから命からがら逃げまわり、洞穴に身を隠していたときに書かれたとあります（1サムエル記22-24参照）。ダビデは告白しました。「嵐が過ぎ去るまで、御翼の陰に潜ませてください」（1節 JCB）。主を賛美するとき私たちの目は自分の状況から、神の偉大さと良くしてくださることに向けさせます。自分で賛美しても、他の人が賛美しているのを聞いても、私たちの心に信仰と確信がうきあがります。この状況のただ中においてダビデは宣言しました。「神よ　私の心は揺るぎません。私の心は揺るぎません。私は歌い、ほめ歌います」（7節　JSS2017）。そして、また告白しました。「あなたの恵みは大きく　天にまで及び　あなたのまことは雲にまで及ぶからです。11神よ　あなたが天で　あなたの栄光が全地であがめられますように」（10-11節 JSS2017）。

Psa 57:5  Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens! May Your glory shine over all the earth.

Observation

This is evidently the chorus, sung together in congregational response declaring the praises and glory of God (also repeated in v.11)  But the title of this Psalms tells us that David wrote this Psalm at one of the darkest, lowest point of his life, hiding in a cave, running for his life from Saul (1Sam 22-24). David says, “In you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by.” (57:1 ESV) Praise sets our eyes and focus on the greatness and goodness of God.  Whether we sing these praises or we hear them, it should stir faith and confidence in our hearts.  In the middle of this situation David declares, “My heart is steadfast, O God my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music.” (v.7) And his confession is, “For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.” (v.10) And then declares once again, “Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.” (v.11)
