1列王記 1:5 （新改訳JSS2017）　ときに、ハギテの子アドニヤは、「私が王になる」と言って野心を抱き、戦車、騎兵、それに自分の前に走る者五十人を手に入れた。

コメント

アドニヤは非常に有能な人でした。そうでなければ、ヨアブやアビアタルは彼を支持しなかったでしょう（7節参照）。しかし、彼は自分の時と方法で人を操り、自分を有利な立場に立ちあがろうとしました。彼はこの時の教訓を学ばずまた、人を操って自分の有利にしようとし、バタシェバもソロモンをも使おうとしました。しかし、これは最終的に自分の死に至りました（1列王記 2:13,19参照）。創造主なる神は私たち一人一人ご自分の目的のために造られ、その目的を果し、成し遂げるために必要な賜物や能力を備えました。それは私たち自分のためのものではなく、神と神の国の前進のために使うべきものです。パウロはローマ書の中でこのように言いました。「私は、自分に与えられた恵みによって、あなたがた一人ひとりに言います。思うべき限度を超えて思い上がってはいけません。むしろ、神が各自に分け与えてくださった信仰の量りに応じて、慎み深く考えなさい」（ローマ12:3 JSS2017）。パウロはさらに続けて教えています。「私たちは、与えられた恵みにしたがって、異なる賜物を持っているので、それが預言であれば、その信仰に応じて預言し、奉仕であれば奉仕し、教える人であれば教え、勧めをする人であれば勧め、分け与える人は惜しまずに分け与え、指導する人は熱心に指導し、慈善を行う人は喜んでそれを行いなさい」（ローマ12:6-8 JSS2017 ）。主なる神と神の国のために私たちの全てのささげて、投資し、用いましょう（使徒の働き 13:36 参照）。

1Ki 1:5  (NIV84) Now Adonijah, whose mother was Haggith, put himself forward and said, “I will be king.” So he got chariots and horses ready, with fifty men to run ahead of him.

Observation

Adonijah was obviously a very gifted and able man.  Otherwise, Joab and Abiathar would not have given him their support (see v. 7)  But he tried to manipulate people and the situation to advantage himself.  As we see later, he never learned his lesson and also tried to use manipulate others including Bathsheba and Solomon to get what he wanted (see 1Kings 2:13,19 etc.).  It ultimately led to his death.  God has given each of us gifts and abilities to use to accomplish his will and purpose for our lives.  “For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.” (Rom 12:3 NIV84) Paul goes on to tell us. “We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. 7 If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8 if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.” (Rom 12:6-8 NIV84; see also Acts 13:36)
