Scripture

1Ki 4:20,25 NIV84  The people of Judah and Israel were as numerous as the sand on the seashore; they ate, they drank and they were happy. 25 During Solomon’s lifetime Judah and Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, lived in safety, each man under his own vine and fig tree.

Observation

God has brought great peace and prosperity to Israel.  It was fought for and established by David and then passed on to Solomon and his generation.  They enjoyed the fruit of God’s blessing.  God warned Israel from the beginning when he was about to bring them into the land of promise and given them great prosperity, not to forget the Lord or who had given them all of this blessings. “For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with streams and pools of water, with springs flowing in the valleys and hills; 8 a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey; 9 a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing; a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills. 10 When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the LORD your God for the good land he has given you. 11 Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day.†(Deu 8:7-11 NIV84). James says this, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights.†(Jam 1:17 NIV84)
