１列王記 5:5 （新改訳JSS2017）　今私は、私の神、主の御名のために神殿を建てようと思っています。主が私の父ダビデに、『わたしがあなたの代わりに王座に就かせるあなたの子、彼がわたしの名のために家を建てる』と言われたとおりです。

ダビデはモーセが昔からイスラエルに言われた通りに、敵の全てに勝利し、圧服しました（民数記 33:52-53; 士師記 2:1-3; 3:1-4参照）。今、ソロモンは言ってます。「ご存じのように、私の父ダビデは、周りからいつも戦いを挑まれていたため、主が彼らを私の足の裏の下に置かれるまで、私の父の神、主の御名のために神殿を建てることができませんでした。4しかし今や、私の神、主は、周囲の者から私を守って安息を与えてくださり、敵対する者もなく、わざわいを起こす者もありません」（3-4節 JSS2017）。その結果、「今私は、私の神、主の御名のために神殿を建てようと思っています」（5節）。同じように、ダビデの子であるイエスはその敵を（私たちの敵を）すべて打ち負かせ、勝利を得ています。私たちはこのことを悟り、理解するようにとパウロは祈られました。「また、神の大能の力の働きによって私たち信じる者に働く神のすぐれた力が、どれほど偉大なものであるかを、知ることができますように。20この大能の力を神はキリストのうちに働かせて、キリストを死者の中からよみがえらせ、天上でご自分の右の座に着かせて、21すべての支配、権威、権力、主権の上に、また、今の世だけでなく、次に来る世においても、となえられるすべての名の上に置かれました。22また、神はすべてのものをキリストの足の下に従わせ、キリストを、すべてのものの上に立つかしらとして教会に与えられました。23教会はキリストのからだであり、すべてのものをすべてのもので満たす方が満ちておられるところです」（エペソ1:19-23 JSS2017）。そして、イエスもその宮を建てられています。「使徒たちや預言者たちという土台の上に建てられていて、キリスト・イエスご自身がその要の石です。21このキリストにあって、建物の全体が組み合わされて成長し、主にある聖なる宮となります。22あなたがたも、このキリストにあって、ともに築き上げられ、御霊によって神の御住まいとなるのです」（エペソ2:20-22 JSS2017）。

1Ki 5:5 NIV84  5 I intend, therefore, to build a temple for the Name of the LORD my God, as the LORD told my father David, when he said, ‘Your son whom I will put on the throne in your place will build the temple for my Name.’

Observation

David finished much of the work to subdue Israel’s enemies that the Lord instructed them through Moses (see Num 33:52-53; Jdg 2:1-3; 3:1-4)  Now, Solomon says although David “could not build a temple for the Name of the Lord his God until the Lord put his enemies under his feet. But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side, and there is no adversary or disaster.  I intend, therefore, to build a temple for the Name of the Lord my God.” (v.3-5 NIV84).  Jesus has put all of his (our) enemies under his feet. So Paul prayed that we would understand, “That power is like the working of his mighty strength, 20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” (Eph 1:19-23 NIV84)  The result is now we are being “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” (Eph 2:20-22 NIV84).
