１列王記 10:9 （新改訳JSS2017）　あなたの神、主がほめたたえられますように。主はあなたを喜び、イスラエルの王座にあなたを就かせられました。主はイスラエルをとこしえに愛しておられるので、あなたを王とし、公正と正義を行わせるのです。」

シェバの女王は自分が聞いたうわさは本当かどうかを確かめるためにやってきました。彼女は言いました。「私が国であなたの事績とあなたの知恵について聞き及んでいたことは、本当でした。私は自分で来て、自分の目で見るまでは、そのことを信じなかったのですが、なんと、私にはその半分も知らされていなかったのです。あなたの知恵と繁栄は、私が聞いていたうわさより、はるかにまさっています」（6-7節 JSS2017）。神はいつも聞いたことや思ったこと以上働かれるお方です。「目が見たことのないもの、耳が聞いたことのないもの、人の心に思い浮かんだことがないものを、神は、神を愛する者たちに備えてくださった」と書いてあるとおりでした。それを、神は私たちに御霊によって啓示してくださいました。御霊はすべてのことを、神の深みさえも探られるからです」（1コリント 2:9-10 JSS2017）。神はいつも想像を超えたことをされる神です。「どうか、私たちのうちに働く御力によって、私たちが願うところ、思うところのすべてをはるかに超えて行うことのできる方に」（エペソ3:20 JSS2017）。ダビデが言いました。「味わい　見つめよ。主がいつくしみ深い方であることを。幸いなことよ　主に身を避ける人は」（詩篇34:8 JSS2017）。必ず思いをも想像をもはるかに超えて働かれる神です。

1Ki 10:9 ESV Blessed be the LORD your God, who has delighted in you and set you on the throne of Israel! Because the LORD loved Israel forever, he has made you king, that you may execute justice and righteousness.”

Observation

The Queen of Sheba arrived to see if what she had heard was true. Her response was, “The report was true that I heard in my own land of your words and of your wisdom, 7 but I did not believe the reports until I came and my own eyes had seen it. And behold, the half was not told me. Your wisdom and prosperity surpass the report that I heard.” (v. 6-7 ESV)  God works in even greater and better ways than we could ever imagine or think.  “But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”—10  these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.” (1Cor 2:9-10 ESV)    God is always beyond what we could ever imagine. “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.” (Eph 3:20 ESV).  David said, “Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!” (Psa 34:8 ESV).  It is better than you can ever imagine!
