１列王記 13:29-31（新改訳JSS2017）　そこで、年老いた預言者は神の人の遺体を取り上げ、それをろばに乗せて自分の町に持ち帰り、悼み悲しんで葬った。30彼が遺体を自分の墓に納めると、皆はその人のために、「ああ、わが兄弟」と言って悼み悲しんだ。31彼はその人を葬った後、息子たちに言った。「私が死んだら、あの神の人を葬った墓に私を葬り、あの人の骨のそばに私の骨を納めてくれ。

（この話のすべてをぜひ読んでください。１列王記 13全体）神はある預言者にベテルへ行き、ヤロブアムが建てた、金の子牛とその祭壇に対して預言するように言われました。そして細かく指示しました。そこで食べたり飲んだりしてはいけない、そして違う道で家に戻らなければならない。確かに、主のことばを忠実に宣言しましたが、その町に住んでいた年老いた預言者がこの若い預言者と食事を、交わりたいと願って、神が自分に彼を家に連れ戻して食事を与えるようにと言われたとうそを言いました。若い預言者は主の明確な指示に反して食事をしたときに、年老いた預言者は主からのことばを受けて若い預言者に宣告しました。「主はこう言われる。『あなたは主のことばに背き、あなたの神、主が命じた命令を守らず、…パンを食べ、水を飲んだので、あなたの亡骸は、あなたの先祖の墓には入らない』」（21-22節 JSS2017）。家の帰りがけにししに襲われ殺されましたが、乗っていたロバは殺されませんでした。これを聞いた老預言者は彼の死体を連れ戻して、自分の墓に葬りました。そして、息子たちに言いつけました。自分が死んだときにはこの預言者と共に葬るようにと。この話から何を学ぶのか？1）神のことばに忠実に聞き従い実行することです。自分の理性やほかの人の声に影響されてはならない。2）神のことばを語る者を敬い、尊敬することです。3）神は必ずご自分のことばを見守り、成就しますが、不従順をさばかれます。

1Ki 13:29-31 ESV  And the prophet took up the body of the man of God and laid it on the donkey and brought it back to the city to mourn and to bury him. 30 And he laid the body in his own grave. And they mourned over him, saying, “Alas, my brother!” 31 And after he had buried him, he said to his sons, “When I die, bury me in the grave in which the man of God is buried; lay my bones beside his bones.

Observation

God had told the prophet to go to Bethel and prophecy against the Golden Calves and altar that Jeroboam had set up.  The Lord also instructed him to not eat or drink there and to return a different way than he went.  Although he fulfilled the word of the Lord, another old prophet that heard about what he did, wanted to share a meal with this prophet and told him God told him to bring him back to his house for a meal.  When the young prophet disobeyed the Lord’s clear instructions, the Lord again spoke through the old prophet, telling him he would not return and be buried in his own hometown.  On his way home, a lion killed him, though not his donkey.  When the older prophet heard what happened, he went and brought the body of the young prophet and buried him in his own grave, then told his sons when he dies to bury him with the young prophet; thus honoring the prophet for the word of the Lord.  What is the Lord trying to teach us?  1) Always learn to obey and follow the Word of the Lord explicitly and not try to reason on our own.  2) Honor the Word of the Lord and those who faithfully deliver it.  3) God will also honor and fulfill His Word, but will also punish disobedience.
