1列王記 15:28-30 （リビングバイブルJCB）　こうしてバシャが、ユダの王アサの第三年に、ナダブに代わってティルツァでイスラエルの王となりました。 29バシャは王位につくと、すぐさまヤロブアム王の子孫を根絶やしにしました。主がシロ出身の預言者アヒヤによってお語りになったとおりです。 30こうなったのもみな、ヤロブアムが罪を犯し、イスラエルを罪に誘って、主を怒らせたからにほかなりません。

コメント

一見、これは厳しいように見えますが、主はくりかえしヤロブアムに警告をし、悔い改める機会を何回も与えましたが、その罪と悪の道から立ち返りませんでした。なんの、結果もないように見えて、息子のナダブも同じ道に歩み続けました。しかし、最終的に神の復讐の時が来たのです。必ずヤロブアムの家を滅ぼすと神は預言者を通して語られました（１列王記 14:9-16参照）。主は非常に情け深く、忍耐深いお方ですが、さばきを実施しなければならないときが必ず来ます。ペテロはこのように警告してます。「まず第一に思い出してほしいことは、終末の時代には、あざける者どもが現れ、真理をあざ笑い、思いつくかぎりの悪を行うということです。 4彼らはこんなことを言う議論のベテランです。「キリストがまた帰って来るという約束はどうなったのか。この世界は造られた最初の日から何も変わらないではないか」（2ペテロ 3:3-4 JCB）。誠実な、正しい審判者は必ずご自分の時にさばきを施行されます。ペテロは続きます。「再び主がおいでになるという約束がなかなか実現しないので、いったいどうなっているのかと思うかもしれません。しかし主は、いたずらに日を延ばしておられるのではありません。一人でも滅びないように、すべての人が悔い改めるために必要な時間を与えようと、忍耐して待っておられるのです。 10しかし主の日は、盗人のように、思いがけない時にやって来ます。その時、天は恐ろしいとどろきと共に消えうせ、天体は焼けて崩れ落ち、地と地上のすべてのものは跡形もなく焼き滅ぼされてしまいます」（2ペテロ3:9-10 JCB; ローマ2:4-6も参照）。これがペテロの結論です。「このように、これらのものがみな滅び去るのですから、私たちはどれほどきよく、敬虔な生活を送らなければならないことでしょう」（2ペテロ3:11 JCB）。

1Ki 15:28-30 NLT  Baasha killed Nadab in the third year of King Asa’s reign in Judah, and he became the next king of Israel. 29 He immediately slaughtered all the descendants of King Jeroboam, so that not one of the royal family was left, just as the LORD had promised concerning Jeroboam by the prophet Ahijah from Shiloh. 30 This was done because Jeroboam had provoked the anger of the LORD, the God of Israel, by the sins he had committed and the sins he had led Israel to commit.

Observation

This may seem harsh but the Lord warned Jeroboam time and again but he refused to repent and turn from his sins.  Because there seemed to be no consequences to his sins and walking against what God word clearly said, his son Nadab also continued in the same path as his father.  Finally, the time of recompense came and God fulfilled his promise that he would destroy the house of Jeroboam and leave none alive (see 1Kings 14:9-16). The Lord is very longsuffering and patient but there comes a time when he must judge and fulfill his word. Here is Peter’s warning, “Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. 4 They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.” (2Pe 3:3-4 NLT).  The faithful and righteous judge of all the earth will execute judgement in his own time.  “The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.” (1Pet 3:9-10 NLT; see also Rom 2:4-6)  Here is Peter’s conclusion, “Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live. (1Pet 3:11 NLT)
