１ペテロ1:23,25; 2:2 （新改訳JSS2017）　あなたがたが新しく生まれたのは、朽ちる種からではなく朽ちない種からであり、生きた、いつまでも残る、神のことばによるのです。25 しかし、主のことばは永遠に立つ」とあるからです。これが、あなたがたに福音として宣べ伝えられたことばです。2:2 生まれたばかりの乳飲み子のように、純粋な、霊の乳を慕い求めなさい。それによって成長し、救いを得るためです。

神のことばは生きた、力強いでものす。私たちを造り変え、養うものです。イエスも言いました。「わたしがあなたがたに話してきたことばは、霊であり、またいのちです」（ヨハネ6：63 JSS2017）。神のことばは朽ちることのない、生きたもの、いつまでも残るもので」す。「主のことばは永遠に立つ」。このみことばこそ、私たちは慕い、飢え渇き、熱心に望まなければなりません。神のことばは私たちの霊的成長を育み、完全に完成された救いまで成長させるのです。もちろん、成長を成し遂げるのは聖霊の働きですが、それを支える、可能とするのは神のことばの食物であり、栄養剤です。神のことばを取り入れるほど成長するのです。健康な赤ちゃんはミルクに対しておう盛な食欲があり、堅い食物を食べれるまで成長させます。霊的にも私たちは同じでなければなりません。

1Pe 1:23,25; 2:2 AMP  You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God. 25  But the Word of the Lord (divine instruction, the Gospel) endures forever. And this Word is the good news which was preached to you. [Isa. 40:6-9.] 2:2  Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation.

Observation

The Word of God is alive and powerful, transforming and nurturing.  Jesus said, “The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.” (John 6:63 ESV) The Word of God is “imperishable…living and enduring.”  It is an eternal word, “The word of the Lord stands forever.” This is the word we are to crave, long for, thirst for, earnestly desire.  The Word of God is what will help us to grow up into the complete experience of salvation.  Although it is the work of the Holy Spirit that causes us to grow, it is energized and nurtured by The Word of God.  The more word we take in, the more we grow.  A healthy baby that has a good appetite for milk, grows into a healthy child that is then able to eat real meat and continue to grow. We must be the same spiritually.
