１ペテロ 3:1-2,7　（リビングバイブルJCB）　妻は夫に従いなさい。たとえ今は、主のことばに耳を傾けようとしない夫であっても、あなたがたの敬虔な態度に打たれて、やがて信仰を持つようになるためです。神を敬う生活は、も弱い者であることを意識して、いたわりなさい。神の祝福は、妻と共に受け継ぐべきものだと心得なさい。もし妻に対する態度が誤っていれば、あなたがたの祈りはむなしいものとなります。

私たちのクリスチャン生活（イエスの足跡に従って歩む）ことはまず家庭において、家族の中で表されなければなりません。ペテロは直接妻たちと夫たちに語っていますが、私たちすべてのものに当てはまります。「神を敬う生活は、どんなことばよりも影響力があります」（JCB）。「あなた達の生き方を見ることで、夫が信じる道に導かれることがあるからだ！」（ERV）。もちろん私たちは福音を語り、分かち合うべきですが、私たちの言動が福音の真理とイエスの愛を現さなければなりません。しかし、もう一つ大切な影響があります。夫に対して言っていますが（妻にも当てはまります、私たち皆の者にも当てはまります）、キリストの愛を家族に対して現していなければ、私たちの祈りも影響されると言っています。イエスもこの人間関係（家族関係をも含みます）は祈りに影響することを教えています。「ですから、神殿の祭壇に供え物をささげようとしている時、人に恨まれていることを思い出したら、 供え物はそのままにして、相手に会ってあやまり、仲直りをしなさい。神に供え物をささげるのはそのあとにしなさい」（マタイ5:23-24 JCB）。すべては神とほかの人々に対する私たちの態度と言動がつながっているのです。イエスはまた言われました。「『心を尽くし、たましいを尽くし、思いを尽くして、あなたの神である主を愛しなさい。』 38これが第一で、最も重要な戒めです。 39第二も同じように重要で、『自分を愛するように、あなたの隣人を愛しなさい』という戒めです。 40ほかのすべての戒めと預言者たちの命令も、この二つから出ています。ですから、この二つを守れば、ほかの戒めを全部守ったことになるのです。これを守りなさい」（マタイ22:37-40 JCB）。私たちの最も身近な家族で一番適用すべきです。

1Pe 3:1,2,7 NLT  In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over 2 by observing your pure and reverent lives. 7 In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.

Observation

The first place we must live out our Christianity (following Jesus’ footsteps) is in our homes and with our families.  Peter addresses this directly to wives and husbands, but the principle applies to all of us.  “Your godly lives will speak to them without any words.  They will be won over by your pure and reverent lives.” (v.1-2)  Of course we must speak and share the Gospel, but if our lives don’t reflect and exemplify the truths of the Gospel, it will not have much effect.  For the husband (and also can apply to wives and to everyone), another reason to live and show the love of Jesus to our wives (and others in our family and friends), is that it can also affect our prayers.  Jesus also addresses the issue of relationship affecting our prayers.  “”So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.” (Matt 5:23-24 NLT).  It is all interconnected and very pertinent to our relationship with God and with others.  “Jesus replied, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” (Matt 22:37-40 NLT).  There is nowhere that this is more applicable than in our families.
