２列王記 4:40-41,43-44 （新改訳JSS2017）　彼らは皆に食べさせようとして、これをよそった。皆はその煮物を口にするやいなや、こう叫んだ。「神の人よ、釜の中に毒が入っています。」彼らは食べることができなかった。41エリシャは言った。「では、麦粉を持って来なさい。」彼はそれを釜に投げ入れて言った。「これをよそって、この人たちに食べさせなさい。」そのときにはもう、釜の中には悪い物はなくなっていた。43 彼の召使いは、「これだけで、どうして百人もの人に分けられるでしょうか」と言った。しかし、エリシャは言った。「この人たちに与えて食べさせなさい。主はこう言われる。『彼らは食べて残すだろう。』」 44そこで、召使いが彼らに配ると、彼らは食べて残した。主のことばのとおりであった。

コメント

見られているように、エリシャはエリヤの二倍の霊を受けました。これはエリシャが行った奇跡にも表れています。エリヤには7-8の奇跡が記録されています、そして、エリシャには15-16の奇跡が記録されています。どちらも、奇跡の神に仕えていました。これらの奇跡はイスラエルを神に立ち返らせるためのものでした。イエスの生涯も奇跡が現わされました。聖書のほかのだれよりも圧倒的に多く記録されています。三十七の奇跡が記載されていますが、多分これは一部だけだと思われます。多くの人々はイエスの奇跡だけを求めました。しかし、奇跡の目的はしるしとなり、何かを指す道しるべとなるためです。人々の注意をひき、イエスに引き寄せるためのものです。「それで、彼らはイエスに言った。「それでは、私たちが見てあなたを信じられるように、どんなしるしを行われるのですか。何をしてくださいますか。32 それで、イエスは彼らに言われた。「まことに、まことに、あなたがたに言います。モーセがあなたがたに天からのパンを与えたのではありません。わたしの父が、あなたがたに天からのまことのパンを与えてくださるのです」 （ヨハネ6:30,32 JSS2017）。人々が奇跡だけを求め始めたときに、それはすべてイエスの復活を指すものであると言いました（マタイ12:39-41； ヨハネ 2:18-19参照）。ペンテコステの日にペテロは言いました。「イスラエルの皆さん、これらのことばを聞いてください。神はナザレ人イエスによって、あなたがたの間で力あるわざと不思議としるしを行い、それによって、あなたがたにこの方を証しされました。それは、あなたがた自身がご承知のことです。23 神が定めた計画と神の予知によって引き渡されたこのイエスを、あなたがたは律法を持たない人々の手によって十字架につけて殺したのです。24　しかし神は、イエスを死の苦しみから解き放って、よみがえらせました。この方が死につながれていることなど、あり得なかったからです」（使徒の働き 2:22-24　JSS2017）。奇跡はすべてイエスとその復活を指さなければなりません。しかし、イエスは私たちにこのように約束しました。「わたしが父のうちにいて、父がわたしのうちにおられると、わたしが言うのを信じなさい。信じられないのなら、わざのゆえに信じなさい。12まことに、まことに、あなたがたに言います。わたしを信じる者は、わたしが行うわざを行い、さらに大きなわざを行います。わたしが父のもとに行くからです」（ヨハネ14:11-12 JSS2017）。

2Ki 4:40-41,43-44 NIV84  The stew was poured out for the men, but as they began to eat it, they cried out, “O man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it. 41 Elisha said, “Get some flour.” He put it into the pot and said, “Serve it to the people to eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot. 43  “How can I set this before a hundred men?” his servant asked. But Elisha answered, “Give it to the people to eat. For this is what the LORD says: ‘They will eat and have some left over.'” 44 Then he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the LORD.

Observation

As we have seen Elisha received a double portion of the Spirit and anointing of Elijah.  Part of this is manifested in the miracles that Elisha performs.  There are 7 or 8 miracles attributed to Elijah and 15 or 16 to Elisha.  They both served the God of miracles.  Jesus’ life was also marked by miracles, 37 recorded, many more than any other person in Scripture. Many people sought after Jesus, just because of the signs and wonders.  The purpose of miracles and signs are to catch people’s attention and turn them to seek the Lord.  “So they asked him, “What miraculous sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? 31 Our forefathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'” 32 Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” (Joh 6:30-33 NIV84). When people began to just seek the signs, Jesus told them that the most important miracle and sign would be his resurrection (see Matt 12:39-41; John 2:18-19 etc.).  Peter on the Day of Pentecost said this, “”Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23 This man was handed over to you by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.” ( Acts 2:22-24 NIV84) All the other miracles are just signs that point to Jesus and his resurrection. But Jesus also promised, “Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” (John 14:11-12 NIV84).
