２列王記 8:5-6（新改訳JSS2017）　彼が王に、死人を生き返らせたあの出来事を話していると、ちょうどそこに、子どもを生き返らせてもらった女が、自分の家と畑のことについて王に訴えに来た。ゲハジは言った。「王様、これがその女です。そしてこれが、エリシャが生き返らせた子どもです。」　王が彼女に尋ねると、彼女は王にそのことを話した。すると王は彼女のために、一人の宦官に「彼女のすべての物と、彼女がこの地を離れた日から今日までの畑の収穫のすべてを、返してやりなさい」と命じたのであった。

主は再びシュネムの女を顧みて備えてくださいました。イスラエルの地（北部王国）にひどい飢きんがあり、エリシャはシュネムの女に家族を連れて他のところに逃れるようにと言いました。そして、この飢きんは7年間続くと言いました。七年おえて、シュネムの女は自分の家に戻ってきましたが、無断居住者が土地を所有していました。彼女は王のところに、土地を返していただけるように訴えるために行きました。ちょうどその時です。エリシャのしもべゲハジが王にエリシャの様々な奇跡の話をしていました、そして彼女が宮廷に入ってきたとき、ゲハジは彼女と息子のよみがえりの話をしていたところでした。王は即に一人の宦官をつかわして、彼女のものをすべて回復するようにと命じました。土地だけではなく、その土地の生産もすべて帰すように命じました。私たちの主は完ぺきなタイミングの神様です。また、回復の神です。「しかし、ちょうどよい時が来ると、神様は自分のひとり息子を、女から生まれた者、ユダヤ人として生まれた者として、お遣わしになりました」（ガラテヤ4:4 JLB；エペソ 1:10も参照）。神はまた奪われたものを取り返す、償いの神です。「わたしがあなたがたの間に送った大軍勢が　食い尽くした年々に対して、わたしはあなたがたに償う。あなたがたは食べて満ち足り、あなたがたの神、主の名をほめたたえる。主があなたがたに　不思議なことをするのだ」（ヨエル 2:25-26 JSS2017）。これが神の約束です。「神は、キリスト・イエスが成し遂げてくださったことによるご自身の栄光の富の中から、あなたがたに必要なものをすべて満たしてくださる方です」（ピリピ 4:19 JCB）。

2Ki 8:5-6 NIV84  Just as Gehazi was telling the king how Elisha had restored the dead to life, the woman whose son Elisha had brought back to life came to beg the king for her house and land. Gehazi said, “This is the woman, my lord the king, and this is her son whom Elisha restored to life.” 6 The king asked the woman about it, and she told him. Then he assigned an official to her case and said to him, “Give back everything that belonged to her, including all the income from her land from the day she left the country until now.”

Observation

God once again takes care of the Shunammite woman.  There had been a famine in the land of Israel (northern kingdom) and Elisha had told her to take her family and go somewhere else.  He also told her that the famine would last 7 years.  At the end of 7 years, she returns to her home and land but someone else has taken it over.  She goes to the king to appeal to have it returned.  Just as she comes to present her case, Gehazi, Elisha’s servant is telling the king about the many miracles of Elisha and is just telling the story of the Shunammite and her son and especially of being from the dead.  That is when she walk into the king’s court and Gehazi says, “This is the woman…and her son whom Elisha restored to life.”  The king immediately assigned an official to her case and restored not only her land, but all the income produced by her land in her absence.  The Lord is a God of perfect timing and of full restoration. “But when the right time came, God sent His Son.” (Gal 4:4) “At the right time He will bring everything together under the authority of Christ.” (Eph 1:10 NLT) He also is the God of restitution and restoration.  “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you. 26 “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. And my people shall never again be put to shame.” (Joel 2:25-26 ESV)  Here is God’s promise to us, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Phil 4:19 ESV).
