今日のことば

２列王記 9:25-26 （新改訳JSS2017）　エフーは侍従のビデカルに命じた。「彼を運んで、イズレエル人ナボテの所有地であった畑に投げ捨てよ。思い起こすがよい。私とあなたが馬に乗って彼の父アハブの後に並んで従って行ったときに、主が彼についてこの宣告を下されたことを。　『わたしは、昨日、ナボテの血とその子たちの血を確かに見届けた──主のことば──。わたしは、この地所であなたに報復する──主のことば。』それで今、彼を運んで、主が語られたとおり、あの地所に彼を投げ捨てよ。」

コメント

昨日、主はご自分のことばを見守り、実現させることを見ました。アハブの家に対する神の裁きのことばはエフ―を通して実現されました。神は三人の方を立てて、そのさばきを実現しました。アラムの王ハザエル、イスラエルの王エフ―と、神の預言者エリシャ。「ハザエルの剣を逃れる者をエフーが殺し、エフーの剣を逃れる者をエリシャが殺す」（１列王記 19:17 JSS2017）。アハブの息子ヨラムはアラムとハザエル王の戦いで傷を負って、帰ってきましたが、エフ―は矢を放ち彼を殺しました。しかし、もう一つの預言のことばがここで成就します。アハブ王がナボテを殺し、その土地を奪った時、エリヤは彼に宣言しました。「主はこう言われる。あなたは人殺しをしたうえに、奪い取ったのか。」また、彼に言え。「主はこう言われる。犬たちがナボテの血をなめた、その場所で、その犬たちがあなたの血をなめる」（１列王記 21:19 JSS2017）。アハブが戦死したとき、彼の戦車から血を洗い流していた時犬がその血をなめて、このことばは文字通り成就しました（１列王記 22:38 参照）。しかし、今、息子のヨラムも殺され、その死体はナボテの地所に投げ入れられました。祝福のことばであれ、さばきのことばであれ、主のことばは成就されます。ペテロは警告しました。「主は、ある人たちが遅れていると思っているように、約束したことを遅らせているのではなく、あなたがたに対して忍耐しておられるのです。だれも滅びることがなく、すべての人が悔い改めに進むことを望んでおられるのです。10しかし、主の日は盗人のようにやって来ます。その日、天は大きな響きを立てて消え去り、天の万象は焼けて崩れ去り、地と地にある働きはなくなってしまいます。11このように、これらすべてのものが崩れ去るのだとすれば、あなたがたは、どれほど聖なる敬虔な生き方をしなければならないことでしょう。12そのようにして、神の日が来るのを待ち望み、到来を早めなければなりません。その日の到来によって、天は燃え崩れ、天の万象は焼け溶けてしまいます」(２ペテロ 3:9-12 JSS2017)。主と主のことばをなめるな！

2Ki 9:25-26 NIV84  Jehu said to Bidkar, his chariot officer, “Pick him up and throw him on the field that belonged to Naboth the Jezreelite. Remember how you and I were riding together in chariots behind Ahab his father when the LORD made this prophecy about him: 26 “Yesterday I saw the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons, declares the LORD, and I will surely make you pay for it on this plot of ground, declares the LORD.’ Now then, pick him up and throw him on that plot, in accordance with the word of the LORD.”

Observation

Yesterday we saw that the Lord watches over his word to fulfill and perform it. God fulfilled his word to make Jehu king of Israel to bring judgement on the house of Ahab. God was raising up three people, Hazel king of Aram, Jehu king of Israel and Elisha the prophet. “Jehu will put to death any who escape the sword of Hazael, and Elisha will put to death any who escape the sword of Jehu.” (1Kings 19:17 NIV84).  Joram son of Ahab has just returned wounded in battle with King Hazel and Aram. Jehu shoots and kills Joram. But there is also another prophetic word being fulfilled here.  After Ahab killed and took possession of Naboth’s field, Elijah had declared, ‘This is what the LORD says: Have you not murdered a man and seized his property?’ Then say to him, ‘This is what the LORD says: In the place where dogs licked up Naboth’s blood, dogs will lick up your blood—yes, yours!'” (1Kings 21:19 NIV84).   This was literally fulfilled when Ahab died of wounds in battle and the blood in his chariot was licked up by dogs as they washed it out (see 1Kings 22:38). Now his son is killed and thrown in the very field of Naboth where the prophetic word was given.  God’s word whether of blessing and judgment will be fulfilled.  Here is what Peter warns us, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.” (2Pe 3:9-12  NIV84)  Don’t mess with the Lord!
