２列王記 15:34-35 （リビングバイブルJCB）　ヨタムは父ウジヤのように、主の前に正しいことを行いました。しかし、高台の礼拝所は取り除かなかったので、人々はそこでいけにえをささげたり、香をたいたりしました。彼の在位中に、神殿の上の門が造られました。

コメント

この章（２列王記15章）は様々な政治的、社会的激動の中にありました。陰謀；暗殺；僭位；異国偶像礼拝など。また、神から心を背けていたため、隣国の国々からの裁きの手も述べられていました。その中で、ある王たちは「主の目に悪を行った」とありますが、他の王たちは「主の目にかなったことを行った」とあります。この時に、アッシリア帝国も領土を広げ、攻め始めました（29節参照）。またアラム（シリヤ）と北王国イスラエルは南王国のユダに侵入し始めました（37節参照）。7節にはこの時代の初めにウジヤ王が死んで、先祖たちの墓に葬られたとあります。イザヤはこの時、混乱の時代の中で天からの視野を示してくれました。「ウジヤ王が死んだ年に、私は、高く上げられた御座に着いておられる主を見た。その裾は神殿に満ち、セラフィムがその上の方に立っていた」（イザヤ6:1-2 JSS2017）。全能なる主は天において御座に座っていただけではなく、天と地のすべてを支配し、治めています（１テモテ　6:16; エペソ1:20-21； 黙示録 7:15-17 など参照; 詩篇2篇も考慮）。イエスも弟子たちに言いました。「わたしには天においても地においても、すべての権威が与えられています」。そして私たちにも命じました。「ですから、あなたがたは行って、あらゆる国の人々を弟子としなさい。父、子、聖霊の名において彼らにバプテスマを授け、わたしがあなたがたに命じておいた、すべてのことを守るように教えなさい。見よ。わたしは世の終わりまで、いつもあなたがたとともにいます」（マタイ 28:18-20 JSS2017）。

2Ki 15:34-35 NLT Jotham did what was pleasing in the LORD’s sight. He did everything his father, Uzziah, had done. 35 But he did not destroy the pagan shrines, and the people still offered sacrifices and burned incense there. He rebuilt the upper gate of the Temple of the LORD.
Observation

This chapter is full of political and societal turmoil; intrigue, assassinations, usurpation, idolatry, God’s judgments on nations and their rulers because of turning away from the Lord and His ways.  There are many bad kings who “did evil in the sight of the Lord.” Others, especially in Judah, did mostly what was right and was pleasing in the sight of the Lord.  This is also the time when the empire of Assyria begins to extend and comes against the kingdoms of Israel and Judah (see v.29).  Also Aram and Israel are afflicting the kingdom of Judah (see v.37). Verse 7 records that Uzziah dies and is buried with his ancestors.  Isaiah gives us the heavenly perspective in the midst of this time. “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphs…” (Isa 6:1-2 NIV84). This is where the sovereign Lord God is not only seated but is ruling over heaven and earth (see 1Tim 6:16; Eph 1:20-21; Rev 7:15-17 etc.; Psa. 2). Jesus told his disciples, “”All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” And then he tells us, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”(Matt 28:18-20 NIV84)
