1テサロニケ 3:10,12,13 （新改訳JSS2017）　私たちは、あなたがたの顔を見て、あなたがたの信仰で不足しているものを補うことができるようにと、夜昼、熱心に祈っています。12私たちがあなたがたを愛しているように、あなたがたの互いに対する愛を、またすべての人に対する愛を、主が豊かにし、あふれさせてくださいますように。13そして、あなたがたの心を強めて、私たちの主イエスがご自分のすべての聖徒たちとともに来られるときに、私たちの父である神の御前で、聖であり、責められるところのない者としてくださいますように。アーメン。

コメント

パウロはいかにテサロニケの信者のために祈っているかを語っています。彼らの信仰、愛、希望が強められ、成長するためです。また彼らと再会して、彼らを励まし、強めることができることを切に望んでいると言っています。特に彼らの信仰の不足している分を満たしたいと言っています。「信仰のなお足りないところを補いたい」（JCB）と言ってます。神のみことばを語り、教えることによって、彼らの信仰を成長させたいのです。「信仰は、キリストについてのことばに耳を傾けることから始まるのです」（ローマ 10:17 JCB）。その究極的目的は、「私たちの主イエスがご自分のすべての聖徒たちとともに来られるときに、私たちの父である神の御前で、聖であり、責められるところのない者としてくださいますように。」神はその愛と恵みによって私たちの内に働いています。「あなたがたのうちに良い働きを始められた神は、必ずそれを恵みのうちに成長させ、やがてキリスト・イエスが帰って来られる日までに、それを完成してくださると、私は堅く信じています」（ピリピ 1:6 JCB）。これは神の恵みと言いますが、私たちの信仰の応答を要します。神が約束し、語っておられることを成し遂げることを信じることです。私たちは神のことばを聞き、信じることによって、信仰の応答が成長します。

1Th 3:10,12,13 ESV  as we pray most earnestly night and day that we may see you face to face and supply what is lacking in your faith? 12 and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you, 13 so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

Observation

Paul reveals how he prays for the Thessalonians, that they may be strengthened and increase in their faith, love and hope (see also 1Thes 1:3-4). Paul expresses his hope to see them again and encourage and strengthen them in their faith and love for one another and for all.  Paul desires to “supply what is lacking in your faith” or as NLT says, “to fill the gaps in your faith.” He wants to do this by teaching them the word of God and how to apply it to their lives.  “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Rom 10:17 ESV).  The ultimate goal is to “establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.”  God is at work in our lives by his grace and love.  Paul told the Philippians, “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” (Phil 1:6 NLT).  This is called God’s grace working in our lives, but it requires our response of faith, to believe and trust him to do what he says he will do.  We increase our faith response by hearing and believing the word of God.
