ネヘミヤ 6:9 （新改訳 JSS2017）　これらのことはみな、「彼らの工事に対する気力が落ち、工事は中止されるだろう」と考えて、私たちを脅すためであった。　ああ、今、どうか私を力づけてください。

コメント　

非常に困難で厳しい状況の中で、ネヘミヤは働きをやめませんでした。ネヘミヤとユダの敵はあらゆる戦略を企んで、彼らを脅かしました。交渉の場に誘い出そうとしましたが、実は暗殺の計画でした。全く嘘の情報を流そうとしました（ネヘミヤはユダの王となり、反乱を起こそうとしている、などと促しました）。また、ある預言者たちに金を払い、預言をして、ネヘミヤを働きからそらせようとしました。しかし、ネヘミヤ自身神に祈り求めていました。神はネヘミヤに知恵を与え、彼らの企みを見抜くことができました。そして、ネヘミヤは祈りました。「神よ、どうぞいまわたしの手を強めてください」（口語訳）。パウロもこのように祈りました。「私は、キリストのゆえに、弱さ、侮辱、苦悩、迫害、困難を喜んでいます。というのは、私が弱いときにこそ、私は強いからです」（２コリント 12:10 JSS2017）。主はイザヤを通して約束しました。「恐れるな。わたしはあなたとともにいる。たじろぐな。わたしがあなたの神だから。わたしはあなたを強くし、あなたを助け、わたしの義の右の手で、あなたを守る」（イザヤ 41:10 JSS2017）。ダビデは告白しました。「心に恐れを覚える日　私はあなたに信頼します」（詩篇56:3 JSS2017）。混乱に直面して、あきらめようと思うときは祈りましょう。「今、どうか私を力づけてください。神よ、どうぞいまわたしの手を強めてください」（JSS2017;口語訳）。そして、決して忘れてはなりません。「神が私たちの味方であるなら、だれが私たちに敵対できるでしょう」（ローマ8:31 JSS2017）。

Neh 6:9 NIV84  They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed.” But I prayed, “Now strengthen my hands.”

Observation

In the midst of very difficult circumstances Nehamiah continued to work and do what he knew needed to be done.  The enemies of Nehemiah and Judah used intimidation and tried various schemes to get him to either stopping the work or discredit him.  They tried to get Nehemiah to come to the negotiating table but were going to ambush or assassinate him.  They spread lies that Nehemiah was about to proclaim himself king.  They paid some of the “prophets” to prophecy falsely and get him off track.  But because Nehemiah prayed and sought the Lord himself, God gave him wisdom and discernment to see through their schemes and strategies.  Then Nehemiah prayed, “Now strengthen my hands.”  Paul prayed this way, “For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2Cor 12:10 NIV84). This is God’s promise through Isaiah, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with My victorious right hand.” (Isa 41:10 NLT).  David declared, “But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in You.” (Psa 56:3 NLT).  When it is difficult and even think about giving up, Pray!  “Lord, Strengthen my hands.” And never forget, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Rom 8:31 NIV84)
