ネヘミヤ 9:7-8 （新改訳JSS2017）　あなたこそ神である主です。あなたはアブラムを選んで　カルデア人のウルから連れ出し、その名をアブラハムとされました。8彼の心が御前に忠実であるのを見て、あなたは彼と契約を結び、カナン人、ヒッタイト人、アモリ人、ペリジ人、エブス人、ギルガシ人の地を　彼の子孫に与えるとされました。そしてその約束を果たされました。あなたは正しい方だからです。

コメント

彼らは神に立ち返り、祭りとお祝いの最後にこの感謝と賛美、悔い改めと献身の祈りをしました。この祈りの元はこの告白でした。「そしてその約束を果たされました。あなたは正しい方だからです」。だからこそ彼らは主に信頼を置き、神の約束を信じることができました。約束を守り、忠実かつ、正しいお方だからです。ヨシュアもこのように言いました。「主がイスラエルの家に告げられた良いことは、一つもたがわず、すべて実現した」（ヨシュア21:45 JSS2017）。バラムは宣言しました。「神は人ではないから、偽りを言うことがない。人の子ではないから、悔いることがない。神が仰せられたら、実行されないだろうか。語られたら、成し遂げられないだろうか」（民数記 23:19 JSS2017）。へブル書も断言しています。「それは、前に置かれている希望を捕らえようとして逃れて来た私たちが、約束と誓いという変わらない二つのものによって、力強い励ましを受けるためです。その二つについて、神が偽ることはあり得ません。19私たちが持っているこの希望は、安全で確かな、たましいの錨のようなものであり、また幕の内側にまで入って行くものです」（へブル6:18-19 JSS2017）。ゆえに、私たちはこのように応答すべきです。「神の約束はことごとく、この方において「はい」となりました。それで私たちは、この方によって「アーメン」と言い、神に栄光を帰するのです」（２コリント 1:20 JSS2017）。

Neh 9:7-8 NIV84  “You are the LORD God, who chose Abram and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans and named him Abraham. 8 You found his heart faithful to you, and you made a covenant with him to give to his descendants the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Jebusites and Girgashites. You have kept your promise because you are righteous.

Observation

At the close of their celebration and return to the Lord God of their Fathers, together they pray this prayer of praise, repentance, and dedication. The basis of this prayer is this declaration. “You have kept your promise because you are righteous.”  This is  the reason they could put their trust in the Lord and his promises, He is faithful to his promise and word, and he is righteous.   Joshua said it this way, “Not one of all the LORD’s good promises to the house of Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.” (Josh 21:45 NIV84).  Balaam declared, “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” (Numb 23:19 NIV84).  Hebrews proclaims, “God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.” (Heb 6:18-19 NIV84).  Here is how we are to respond to Lord and his promises, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.” (2Cor 1:20 NIV84).
