ホセア 1:10-11（新改訳JSS2017）　イスラエルの子らの数は、量ることも数えることもできない海の砂のようになる。「あなたがたはわたしの民ではない」　と言われたその場所で、彼らは「生ける神の子ら」と言われる。11ユダの人々とイスラエルの人々は　一つに集められ、一人のかしらを立てて　その地から上って来る。まことに、イズレエルの日は大いなるものとなる。

ホセアは主のことばを預言しただけではなく、彼の人生体験を通して神とイスラエルの関係を預言的な象徴となりました。神はホセアに「遊女と結婚せよ。」と言いました。そして彼女が生んだ子供の名前も、預言的な意味を持つ者としました。長男は「エズレエル」と呼ばれ、神がイスラエルをエズレエルでさばかれるという意味となりました。長女の名はロ・ルハマ、「もうあわれみをかけない（愛さない）」の意。それから次男の名はロ・アンミ、「わたしの民ではない」の意。しかし、神はイスラエルを永遠に、捨てられ、忘れられたのではない。あわれみと恵みの神であり、誠実な神であり、「あなたがたはわたしの民ではない」　と言われたその場所で、彼らは「生ける神の子ら」と言われる」と宣言しました。 これはどう実現するのでしょうか？パウロがこのことばを取り上げて説明しています（ローマ9-11章参照）。イスラエルとユダの不誠実さと犯行のゆえに彼らは切り離され、見捨てられました（オリーブ木の枝のように、ローマ11：17，24など参照）。しかし、神はご自分のことばに対し、イスラエルに対して誠実で忠実な神です。そして、パウロはこの預言的ことばをユダヤ時と異邦人（私たち）の両者に対してに対して適用しています。「このあわれみの器として、神は私たちを、ユダヤ人の中からだけでなく、異邦人の中からも召してくださったのです。25それは、ホセアの書でも神が言っておられるとおりです。「わたしは、わたしの民でない者を　わたしの民と呼び、愛されない者を愛される者と呼ぶ。26あなたがたはわたしの民ではない、と言われたその場所で、彼らは生ける神の子らと呼ばれる」（ローマ 9:24-26 JSS2017）。私たちは神の民でも、神の子どもとも感じなくても、神ご自身が私たちを「わたしの民と呼び、愛されないものを愛されるものと呼ぶ。．．．生ける神の子らと呼ばれる」と言っています。これはイエス・キリストが私たちのためになされた、救いと恵みの働きのゆえです。主なる神は贖いの神であり、回復の神であります。私たちに対して宣言しています。「「永遠の愛をもって、わたしはあなたを愛した。それゆえ、わたしはあなたに　真実の愛を尽くし続けた」（エレミヤ 31:3　JSS2017） 。

Hos 1:10-11 NIV84  “Yet the Israelites will be like the sand on the seashore, which cannot be measured or counted. In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’ 11 The people of Judah and the people of Israel will be reunited, and they will appoint one leader and will come up out of the land, for great will be the day of Jezreel.

Observation

Hosea not only prophesied the word of the Lord but was instructed to demonstrate God’s relationship with Israel and Judah through his own life.  He is instructed to marry a harlot and then when they have children, each are given prophetic names: Jezreel (where the Lord prophetically declares judgment on Israel.) A daughter is named Lo-Ruhamah (Not Loved), and then a son, Lo-Ammi (No My People).  This is because Israel has turned its back on God and become unfaithful.  Yet, even then the Lord is a faithful God and declares those who are called, “You are not my people” will be called “Sons of the Living God.”  How does that happen?  Paul explains it in Romans 9-11. Because of Israel and Judah’s unfaithfulness and rebellion, they are cut off and rejected (like an olive branch; see Rom 11:17,24 etc.).  And yet God himself remains faithful to Israel and to his Word. Paul applies this prophetic word both to Jews and Gentiles who are now called “not my people.”  They will be called “Children of the Living God.”  “And we are among those whom He selected, both from the Jews and from the Gentiles. 25 Concerning the Gentiles, God says in the prophecy of Hosea, “Those who were not My people, I will now call My people. And I will love those whom I did not love before.” 26 And, “Then, at the place where they were told, ‘You are not My people,’ there they will be called ‘children of the living God.'” (Rom 9:24-26 NLT).  Even if we feel we are not people of God or Children of the Living God, He calls you “My People” and “Children of the Living God; because of what Jesus Christ has done for us.  The Lord is a restoring, redeeming God!　 “I have loved you, My people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to Myself.” (Jer 31:3 NLT)
