今日のことば

ホセア 9:7-8 （リビングバイブル JCB）　イスラエルの刑罰の日がきた。報復の日がほぼきており、まもなくイスラエルは、そのことをいやというほど思い知らされる。『預言者たちは頭がおかしい。』 『霊感を受けた人たちは狂っている。』 こう言って人々はあざ笑う。それは、この国が罪の重りをつけられ、神を愛する者たちに憎しみしか示さないからだ。8わたしは自分の民を守ろうと預言者を任命した。だが、民はことあるごとに預言者たちを妨害し、公の場で憎しみを露骨に示し、主の神殿でも同じようにふるまった。

預言者たちと預言の働きは多くの場合昔から、誤解され、拒絶されてきました（イスラエルの時代も同様）。でも、神ご自身がイスラエルに預言者を遣わし、私たちにも今日送られています（エレミヤ7:25;　ルカ11:49など参照）。預言者の主な目的は未来を予告することではなく、神のスポークスマン（メッセンジャー）として神のことばを宣言するものです。昔も今日も偽りの預言者が自分勝手な思い込みと誤った動機や目的から語る者もいます。私たちは見分けて、間違ったことばを拒絶しなければなりません（マタイ12:33;　ルカ6:44；　1ヨハネ4:1など参照）。しかし、預言はもっとも直接的に神がご自分の民に語ってくださる方法です。でも、時には分かりづらい、たとえや、奥義などを語ります。だからこそ、注意して、神に悟りを求めて、主が語ろう（伝えよう）としていることを聞き取らなければなりません。「ユダおよびエルサレムの住民よ、私の言うことを聞け。あなたがたの神、主を信じなさい。そうすれば、あなたがたは堅く立つことができる。主の預言者たちを信じ、勝利を得よ」（２歴代誌 20:20 JSS2017）。　使徒ヨハネもくりかえし警告しました。「耳のある者は、御霊が諸教会に告げることを聞きなさい」（黙示録 2:7, 11,17, 29; 3:6; 13, 22）。今、主の預言者は何を言っているでしょうか？私たちは聞いているでしょうか？また、ある意味において、私たちも、神の預言的声となって、この時代に、私たちの文化に、語らなければなりません。私たちは主が語っていることを聞き取り、それを宣言し、伝えなければなりません。

Hos 9:7-8 NLT The time of Israel’s punishment has come; the day of payment is here. Soon Israel will know this all too well. Because of your great sin and hostility, you say, “The prophets are crazy and the inspired men are fools!” 8 The prophet is a watchman over Israel for my God, yet traps are laid for him wherever he goes. He faces hostility even in the house of God.

Observation

The prophet and the prophetic ministry has been misunderstood and rejected.  But God himself is the one who sent prophets to Israel and also sends us prophets (see Jer 7:25; Luke 11:49 etc.). The primary purpose of the prophetic is not to foretell the future but to be a spokesperson for God, to declare the word of the Lord to his people.  There are false prophets who claim to be from God and who prophecy from their own misguided motives and purposes.  We are told to discern and reject them (Matt12:33; Luke 6:44; 1John 4:1).  The prophetic is one of the most direct ways God speaks to his people.  But sometimes they seem to speak in parables and mysteries.  But we are to listen and take heed to what God is speaking to his people.  “Believe in the LORD your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in His prophets, and you will succeed.” (2Chro 20:20 NLT)  The Apostle John warned us repeatedly: “”Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what He is saying to the churches.” (Rev 2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6,13, 22).  What are the prophets of the Lord saying today?  Are we listening? In a sense we are also God’s prophetic voice to this generation and to our culture.  We must hear what the Lord is saying, and declare it.
