ガラテヤ 4:19 （新改訳JSS2017）　私の子どもたち。あなたがたのうちにキリストが形造られるまで、私は再びあなたがたのために産みの苦しみをしています。

パウロの働きの目的はキリストの姿が彼らの内に表され育てられることでした。このことはパウロの手紙の中でくりかえし見られます。「また、あなたがたが霊と心において新しくされ続け、真理に基づく義と聖をもって、神にかたどり造られた新しい人を着ることでした」（エペソ4:23-24 JSS2017）。「キリスト・イエスのうちにあるこの思いを、あなたがたの間でも抱きなさい」（ピリピ 2:5 JSS2017）。「あなたがたは新しいいのちに生きています。正しいことへの探究心を強め、ますます、この新しいいのちを与えてくださったキリストに似る者となるよう努めましょう」（コロサイ3:10 JCB）。「というのは、神はあらかじめ、ご自分のもとに来る人を知っていて、そのような人々がご自分の御子と同じになるように、最初から定めておられたからです。それは、御子イエスを多くの主を信じる者たちの長子とするためでした」（ローマ8:29 JCB）。「だれでもキリストのうちにあるなら、その人は新しく造られた者です。古いものは過ぎ去って、見よ、すべてが新しくなりました」（2コリント5:17 JSS2017）。 キリストの姿（考え、思い、態度、心）が私たちの内に現わされているでしょうか？ますます、キリストに似た者と造り変えられていることを求めているでしょうか？

Gal 4:19 (NLT) Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives.

Observation

The whole goal and purpose of Paul’s ministry was to see the image of Christ birthed in and developed in the people he ministered to.  This is seen throughout his letters.  “be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Eph 4:23-24 ESV).  “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.” (Phil 2:5 ESV).  “Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like Him.” (Col 3:10 NLT).  “For God knew His people in advance, and He chose them to become like His Son, so that His Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” (Rom 8:29 NLT).  “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2Cor 5:17 IV84). Is Christ being formed in us and are we reflecting his image and likeness more and more as we seek to become more like him?
