ガラテヤ 5:13-14 （リビングバイブルJCB）　愛する皆さん。あなたがたは自由を手にしているのです。それは、悪を行うための自由ではなく、互いに愛し合い、仕え合うための自由です。 14律法の全体は、「自分を愛するように他の人を愛しなさい」という一つの命令に要約されるからです。

コメント

パウロはキリストにある自由について述べていますが、それは律法のしがらみからの自由です。でも、この自由は好き勝手にして、肉の欲することを満たすための自由ではないと警告しています。かえって、愛を持って互いに仕えあうことができる自由です。イエスもこのことをまとめて言っています。「イエスはお答えになりました。「『心を尽くし、たましいを尽くし、思いを尽くして、あなたの神である主を愛しなさい。』 38これが第一で、最も重要な戒めです。 39第二も同じように重要で、『自分を愛するように、あなたの隣人を愛しなさい』という戒めです。 40ほかのすべての戒めと預言者たちの命令も、この二つから出ています。ですから、この二つを守れば、ほかの戒めを全部守ったことになるのです。これを守りなさい」（マタイ22:37-40 JCB）。パウロはさらにこれを煮詰めて言ってます。「自分を愛するように他の人を愛しなさい」という一つの命令に要約されるからです」（ローマ13:10； ヤコブ 2:8も参照）。続けて、パウロはこの愛の律法に反する肉の働きをあげてますが（19-21節参照）、神の律法を満たす愛は御霊の実であると言ってます。そして、その他の御霊の実もこの愛から出るものです。「しかし、聖霊が生活を支配してくださる時、私たちのうちに、次のような実を結びます。愛、喜び、平安、寛容、親切、善意、誠実、 23柔和、自制です。そこには、律法に反するものは何もありません」（22-23節 JCB）。これらの良い実を豊富に結びましょう。

Gal 5:13-14 NLT  For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. 14 For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Observation

Paul has been talking about the freedom which Christ has given us, a freedom from the bondage to the Law.  But he goes on to warn that this is not the freedom to do whatever you want and “satisfy your sinful nature” (MSG – “don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom.”)  But “rather use your freedom to serve one another in love.” (MSG)  Jesus said, “ “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40  The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” (Matt 22:37-40 NLT).  Paul reduces it even further, “The whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (see also Rom 13:10; Jam 2:8).  Paul then gives a list of “the works of the flesh” (v. 19-21) which are contrary to the law of love.  The love which fulfills the Law of God is a fruit of the Spirit; in fact all the other fruit of the Spirit proceed out of love. “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” (v. 22-23 NLT).  Let’s bear a bumper crop!
