黙示録 1:1-2 （新改訳JSS2017）　イエス・キリストの黙示。神はすぐに起こるべきことをしもべたちに示すため、これをキリストに与えられた。そしてキリストは、御使いを遣わして、これをしもべヨハネに告げられた。2ヨハネは、神のことばとイエス・キリストの証し、すなわち、自分が見たすべてのことを証しした。 

コメント

この書の表題は「イエス・キリストの黙示」（黙示=神が人に隠されていた真理や神の意志を掲示すること）。この書を読みながらこのことを常に覚えておかなければなりません。この書を理解するための最も重要なカギです。分かりづらい、困難な個所に来たら、その箇所の中で掲示されているイエスを見出すのです。この書はヨハネが、イエス・キリストからの手紙として書かれています。まず、イエス・キリストからの挨拶で始まっています。イエス・キリストは永遠の方で、「今おられ、昔おられ、やがて来られる方」です。すべてがイエス・キリストから始まり、すべてがイエス・キリストで終わり、完成するのです。それから、ヨハネはこのイエス・キリストはどなたであるかをもう一度知らせてくれています。「地上の諸王の支配者」（王の王、主の主である主権者）です。この方はまた、私たちを愛し、その血によって私たちを罪から解き放たれた方です。その目的は私たちを王国として、祭司として神に使える者とするためです（１ペテロ2:9も参照）。これから多くのことが起こりますが、そのすべてを最終的な結末へと導かれる方です。その時、雲に包まれて帰って来られますが、地のすべての部族がその有様を目撃します。もう一度私たちは忘れてはならないことをイエス・キリストが宣言されています。「神である主、今おられ、昔おられ、やがて来られる方、全能者がこう言われます。『わたしはアルファであり、オメガである。』」（8節JSS2017）。

Rev 1:1-2 NIV84 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Observation

The title of this book is “The Revelation of Jesus Christ”.  We must keep this in mind as we read through this book.  It is the key to understand everything that we will read.  When something does not make sense, put it in perspective of the Revelation of Jesus Christ in that passage.  John’s greeting is from Jesus Christ, the eternal one who is, who was and who is to come. It all starts and ends with Jesus Christ.  John also reminds us of who Jesus is.  He is the ruler of the kings on earth, the sovereign King of kings and Lord of lords.  He is also the one who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood.  His purpose and plan is to make us a kingdom of priest (see 1Pet 2:9).  There is much that will transpire and happen as He brings this to its final culmination but we must always remember that He is coming back again and all the tribes of the earth will see him coming in the clouds. Once again here is what we must never forget as we read and begin to experience the things written in this book. Jesus declares, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty”.  As you read, look for “The Revelation of Jesus Christ.”
