黙示録 4:9-11 （新改訳JSS2017）　また、これらの生き物が栄光と誉れと感謝を、御座に着いて世々限りなく生きておられる方にささげるとき、10二十四人の長老たちは、御座に着いておられる方の前にひれ伏して、世々限りなく生きておられる方を礼拝した。また、自分たちの冠を御座の前に投げ出して言った。11「主よ、私たちの神よ。あなたこそ　栄光と誉れと力を受けるにふさわしい方。あなたが万物を創造されました。みこころのゆえに、それらは存在し、また創造されたのです。」

コメント

ここで天の御座の前で常に耐えることのない礼拝がささげられている場面に窓が開かれて、その光景を見ることができます。天のすべてのものが礼拝にかかわっています。四つの生き物（イザヤはこれらをセラフィムと呼んでいます、イザヤ6章；エゼキエルもこれらの生き物を詳しく説明しています、エゼキエル1：5-28など参照）は礼拝を先導し天のすべてのものの礼拝を導きます。そこで24の長老はこれに応答し彼らも、天のすべてのものも礼拝をささげます（黙示録 5:13-14; 7:11-12など参照）。礼拝は私たちから始まるのではなく、天から始まるのです。そして、私たちは応答し、答える者です。24の長老はいかに礼拝をもって応答すべきかを示しています。神の御座の前にひれ伏し、冠を御座のふもとに投げ出しました。この礼拝にふさわしい方は天の神お一人です。彼らは偉大な敬を受け、報いを受けられていましたが、これらをすべて、神の御座の前に投げてささげました。そして言いました、「主よ、私たちの神よ。あなたこそ　栄光と誉れと力を受けるにふさわしい方。あなたが万物を創造されました。みこころのゆえに、それらは存在し、また創造されたのです。」私たちも同じように礼拝しましょう。

Rev 4:9-11 ESV  And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”

Observation

Here is a window into the worship of heaven that is a continually being offered before the Throne of God.  All of heavenly creatures are involved in this worship.  The four creatures (Isaiah calls them Seraphim, see Isa 6; Ezekiel also saw them, Ezk. 1:5-28) initiated and directed the worship.  Then the 24 elders responded in worship also along with them, all of heaven (see Rev 5:13-14; 7:11-12). Worship does not begin with us, it begins in heaven and we are responders.  The 24 elders lead us in how to respond in worship: bowing down and casting their crowns before the throne.  There is only one who is worthy of worship (see Rev 5:9,12). These 24 elders have been given great honor to sit on thrones in God’s throne room.  They have been given crowns of honor and reward.  But they cast them at the foot of the throne of the Lord God who the one that is utmost worthy of all worshipped. They worship saying, “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
