黙示録 6:9-11 （リビングバイブルJCB）　小羊が第五の封印を開いたとき、神の言葉と自分たちがたてた証しのために殺された人々の魂を、わたしは祭壇の下に見た。 10彼らは大声でこう叫んだ。「真実で聖なる主よ、いつまで裁きを行わず、地に住む者にわたしたちの血の復讐をなさらないのですか。」 11すると、その一人一人に、白い衣が与えられ、また、自分たちと同じように殺されようとしている兄弟であり、仲間の僕である者たちの数が満ちるまで、なお、しばらく静かに待つようにと告げられた。

小羊が巻物の封印を解き始めます（唯一封印を解くことにふさわしい方です）。最初の四つの封印は世が始まって以来ほぼずっと続いている状況が示されていますが、今やさらに深められていくことを現されています。五つ目の封印が解かれるとこの状況の中で、その信仰のために殉教された者として分けられている者が見せらます。殉教によってでも、福音のためにいのちを捨ててでも、私たちはすべて十字架を負ってイエスに従うことが要求されています。十二弟子の間で、ヨハネ以外は順境を遂げました。しかし、ヨハネも強烈な迫害を通りました。キリストに従う代価の一部です。「もし、だれかがわたしのもとに来るとしても、父、母、妻、子供、兄弟、姉妹を、更に自分の命であろうとも、これを憎まないなら、わたしの弟子ではありえない。 27自分の十字架を背負ってついて来る者でなければ、だれであれ、わたしの弟子ではありえない」（ルカ14:26-27 JCB）。 「また、わたしの名のために、あなたがたはすべての人に憎まれる。しかし、最後まで耐え忍ぶ者は救われる」（マタイ10：22　JCB）。殉教された者は「仲間の僕である者たちの数が満ちるまで、なお、しばらく静かに待つようにと告げられた」。しかし、これで話は終わりません。第六の封印が解かれると、彼らをこのように扱ったために国々とその指導者の上に大いなるさばきが注がれることが明かされています。そのさばきのひどさのゆえに、彼らは「山と岩に向かって、「わたしたちの上に覆いかぶさって、玉座に座っておられる方の顔と小羊の怒りから、わたしたちをかくまってくれ」と言った」（16節 JCB）。全世界のものが子羊の御座の前に立たせられ、さばかれる日が必ず来ます（黙示録20:11-15; マタイ25:31-46 参照）。私たちも警告を受けています。「また、人間にはただ一度死ぬことと、その後に裁きを受けることが定まっている」（へブル9:27 JCB）。いかにその御座の前に立つのでしょうか?

Rev 6:9-11 NLT  When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of all who had been martyred for the word of God and for being faithful in their testimony. 10 They shouted to the Lord and said, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before You judge the people who belong to this world and avenge our blood for what they have done to us?” 11 Then a white robe was given to each of them. And they were told to rest a little longer until the full number of their brothers and sisters—their fellow servants of Jesus who were to be martyred—had joined them.

Observation

The Lamb now begins to open the seals of the scroll (the only one worthy to do so.)  Each of the first four seal reveals a condition of the world that has been go on for pretty much all of history, but now is going to intensifying.  The fifth seal reveals a group of people who have been set apart during this time, saints that have been martyred for their faith.  Whether by literal martyrdom or because we have laid down our lives for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we are all called to take up our cross and follow Jesus.  Of all the 12 disciples of Christ, everyone except John experienced martyrdom. But even John went through severe persecution for the Gospel.  It is part of the cost of following Jesus. “If you want to be My disciple, you must hate everyone else by comparison—your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be My disciple.  And if you do not carry your own cross and follow Me, you cannot be My disciple.” (Luke 14:25-27 NLT).  “And all nations will hate you because you are My followers. But everyone who endures to the end will be saved.” (Matt 10:22 NLT).  Those who have been martyred are comforted by being told to wait just a little longer until the full number of their brothers and sisters are added.  But this is not the end of the story.  The sixth seal reveals great judgement that is poured out on the nations and rulers that have treated them this way.  So terrible is the judgement that they cry out to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb.” (v. 16).  There is a judgment day coming when all the earth will stand before the Judgment Throne of the Lamb (see Rev 20:11-15; Mat 25:31-46 etc.).  Hebrews warns us, “Every human being is appointed to die once, and then to face God’s judgment.” (Heb 9:27 TPT).  Where do we stand?
