黙示録 19:11-13,16（新改訳JSS2017）　また私は、天が開かれているのを見た。すると見よ、白い馬がいた。それに乗っている方は「確かで真実な方」と呼ばれ、義をもってさばき、戦いをされる。12その目は燃える炎のようであり、その頭には多くの王冠があり、ご自分のほかはだれも知らない名が記されていた。13その方は血に染まった衣をまとい、その名は「神のことば」と呼ばれていた。16その衣と、もものところには、「王の王、主の主」という名が記されていた。

コメント

ここでまた、イエスが鮮明に描かれています。黙示録の最初にイエスは諸教会の間に栄光輝く主なる神として立っているのが描かれています（黙示録1:12-16）。この箇所で勝利を得る征服者として描かれていて、天と地の神に立ち逆らうすべての者を全滅させる者として見られます。天と地の全能者なる神立ちあがって反抗することは全く愚かで、完全に自己欺瞞です（エレミヤ 49:19; 50:44参照）。「主の激しい憤りの前に、だれが立てるだろうか。だれが、その燃える怒りに耐えられるだろうか。主の憤りは火のように注がれ、岩々は御前に打ち砕かれる」（ナホム 1:6　JSS2017）。でも次の節にこのように書かれています。

「主はいつくしみ深く、苦難の日の砦。ご自分に身を避ける者を知っていてくださる」（1:7 JSS2017）。私たちの砦となり、隠れ家の岩となる方は「ご自分に逆らう者に復讐し、敵に対して怒る方。主は怒るのに遅く、力強い方。決して罰せずにおかれることはない。主は、その道がつむじ風と嵐の中にあり、雲は、御足がかき立てるほこりである」（ナホム1:2-3 JSS2017）。あなたはどちら側に着きますか？主イエスの後に天の軍勢は従えます（黙示録 19:14； ユダ1:14-15; 詩篇98:9； 96:13参照）。

Rev 19:11-13,16 TPT  Then I saw heaven opened, and suddenly a white horse appeared. The name of the one riding it was Faithful and True, and with pure righteousness he judges and rides to battle. 12  He wore many regal crowns, and his eyes were flashing like flames of fire. He had a secret name inscribed on him that’s known only to himself. 13  He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title is called the Word of God. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he had inscribed a name: King of kings and Lord of lords. 

Observation

We are given another depiction of Jesus.  At the opening of the Book of Revelation we saw Him as the Glorified Lord God standing in the midst of His churches (see Rev 1:12-16). Here we see Him as the Victorious, Conquering King who will completely annihilate all that have risen in rebellion against the God of Heaven.  It is completely foolish and totally self-deceived to think that anyone can stand against or rise against the Almighty God of Heaven and Earth (see Jer 49:19; 50:44).  “Who can withstand his indignation? Who can endure his fierce anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; the rocks are shattered before him.” (Nah 1:6 NIV84)  But this passage goes on to say, “The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.” (Hah 1:7 NIV84).  The same one who is a strong refuge and Rock of hiding to those who trust in Him is also the Lord who “takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The Lord takes vengeance on his foes and maintains his wrath against his enemies. The Lord is slow to anger and great in power; The Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished.” (Nah 1:2-3 NIV84).  The question is, Whose side are you on? The armies of heaven follow after him in victory (see Rev 19:14).
